CHARLOTTE'S POV

 
Once I was alone, the feeling of exhaustion and sadness overwhelmed me and I wanted to cry. I needed Jace to hold me. I needed him to take care of me. My bubble was popped when there was a knock on the window. I dried my tears and looked up to calm my tears and walked to the balcony. As I opened the window, the sky was darker and his tall body made me feel at ease immediately. Thor hugged me and all those feelings came back and I ended up crying on his chest. He just covered me with his arms and let me take my emotions out. I usually was not like this and yet, all the things happened made me emotional and it was a huge relief to let go all this baggage. After a while, I breathed in and out and let him inside the room. "What are you doing here?" I questioned as I went to my bed. "Jace sent me to check you up." His words sounded true and yet I knew he was lying and he noticed.
"Your new friend called me and asked me if I could stop by." He confessed as he sighed and I kissed his cheek. He took off his cape, shoes and armor before getting into bed with me. "Thank you for coming, though. I know how busy you must be." I added after a few seconds and he just hugged me tighter. "The fact that we are not seeing each other weekly, doesn't mean I don't care about you. I will always care for you." His words made me cry once again and he just caressed my hair and back for the longest time. "How's Asgard?" I asked almost falling asleep. "Loki is doing his own thing and Father is doubtful on who will rise as a king." He seemed let down by that and I turned around to look at his handsome face. "Listen to me, you are great. Father is wise and if he is considering Loki, must be for a reason.
We both know that Loki is too ambitious to rule Asgard and when Odin realizes that, you'll have the throne for you if you want it. Trust your dad." He snaked a hand to my waist and pulled me closer to him. "It seemed like I needed you more than you needed me." I giggled at his words and just let him kiss my forehead and then he looked for my lips. I needed to feel something other than pain and I kissed him back. As his hands went down my body, he found the patch. "What is that?" His question made me remember what had happened. "We had the Combat Fest and some idiot stabbed me." As he heard those words, he took the patch out and looked the wound closely. "You are supposed to heal right away." He knew a lot more than he let on and that made me smile a bit. "Yeah, but runes weren't working so they called Magnus and with lots of help and magic, I made it through."
His eyes ran up to my eyes and stared back at me and I knew he had figured out what had actually happened. He jumped out of bed and started to put his clothes on. "I'm going to kill whoever did this to you." He whispered, more to him than for me to hear it. "Wait, no. Just stay with me." I pled him. "Don't make it worse." Thor seemed to think it through and sat back down, but his mind kept wandering out of the room. "I can't lose you." His words struck me and made me shiver. Thor and I had never been exclusive, but we had made it work and we both were loyal and faithful to each other. Eventually, we slowly got back into bed. "I don't want you to think I came here for this." He spoke as his lips traveled to my collarbone. I cupped his handsome face and just kissed his lips. "I'm just glad that you are here." My words gave him the confirmation he was looking for and we just dived into the pleasure we were looking for.
"Can I see it?" He asked after a while, but I just was not ready for him to see it. "It's nothing to be ashamed of, Charlotte." I knew that, but I just could not process it just yet. After a long sigh, I took the patch out and he sighed. "You should have let me find whoever did this." It was not the wound he was mad for; it was the infection. "What was it?" He questioned again and I just told him. "That's a poison very hard to find." His comment was true.
