CHARLOTTE'S POV

After a lot of planning and organization, the day of the party had arrived and Catherine and I had been in the venue for two days, just watching that there were no mistakes. Using our runes, we put up all the decorations and coordinated everything with the Shadow World catering service. We had received the confirmation of numerous Downworlders that were coming and the event has been very popular among mundanes as well, so we were waiting for a massive attendance. By eight at night, we returned to the institute to get our costumes. Today was the only day my fellow Shadowhunters could dress like normal people and I was taking advantage of that to dress Catherine up. "Aren't we a bit too over-dressed?" She asked while we were on our way. "We're okay, own your costume and have fun." Catherine just smiled and put my arm on her shoulders. "Relax, I'll be there for you all night, unless a cute guy appears." We both laughed and just walked inside the club.

The line was longer than anything I have seen before and it was so fun to see that everyone was actually wearing costumes. When we were inside, the tall skinny guy caught my attention. Alec was there, meaning, Magnus was there too and it did not take long to find Jace, Clary, Izzy and Simon. "Baby girl!" Jace greeted and I hugged him, because I missed him. I let myself puddle in his arms, just because I had been showing the world how badass I could be, but around Jace, I knew I could be me again. "Is everything okay?" He whispered without letting me go. "I just nodded and I put the mask on again. "C'mon. Follow us!" Cath cut in and we started the night. As the night advanced, we took pictures of the party and we also promoted one of the sponsors of it. Starks Industries. The Instagram was very popular around the attendees and they took advantage of the photobooth and the selfie frame.

The music was perfect and I even video-chatted with Tony, who was happy for us and regretted not stopping by. By the end of the party, Instagram was full of comments about our party and we were the hot topics in the other social networks. As Magnus prepared to open the portal, Jace took me to the side. "Is everything okay?" His question made me sigh and I showed him a big smile. "It's rough some days, because I still have to take a moment to breathe for the whole stabbing episode, but I'm okay." His face was covered by worry and confusion. "I'm only a call away and remember that whenever you want to go home, I'll sign the petition and I'll come back for you." I smiled and caressed his face. "I love you, Jace." He went to kiss my forehead. "And I love you, Charlotte Verlac." After those words, he walked away. We returned back to the institute and as we had organized everything, we had the next two days off and Catherine and I made plans.

We wanted to get away from our lives and go somewhere warm, so as soon as we got to the institute, we put a glamour on and opened a portal straight to Greece. London was always cloudy, even if it was summer and whenever there was sun, you had to take advantage of it. So, going to Greece had been an easy choice, besides I loved the history of that country. We left London and we arrived to Greece at nine in the morning. We walked to some place and had breakfast looking at the sea. We walked around the city and used our runes to communicate. Everything was fun, until we saw a demon. We rolled our eyes and just did our job. We jumped into a boat and got away for the rest the day and it was amazing to get away from our duties and although we had taken our days off a little too far, I needed to get away. Even after the demon of today, I needed to get away from this whole mess.

As the night fell over us, we lay down and just watched the sky. "Have you talked to Thor?" Catherine asked and I turned to her. "Not since the launch party, why?" I replied. "I don't know, I have this feeling." I held her hand and just sighed. "He's a God, meaning he's always at risk, but I guess that if he was at risk, we'd know." She nodded and kept looking at the sky.
