CATHERINE’S POV

Since the Combat Fest, I had avoided all residents. Not because I was afraid of them, but they all had been so mean to Charlotte throughout these two months and they had taken Leon side even when they did not have the whole story about Sebastian. It would have been very inconsistent of me to hang out with them when all I wanted was to beat them all, so, I tried my best to stay on my lane and just do my job, almost being invisible to everyone, just like before the worldwide meeting. Things were not black and white for me anymore. In fact, I just stopped trying to fit into this institute. Vallery and I were waiting for her to wake up. According to the nurse, Charlie should have awakened a few hours ago, so of course, I was worried, but then her voice brought my soul back to my body. It was a relief to see Charlie awake. Immediately we explained what happened with Magnus and how her brothers did not know anything yet.
She was in shock and it was normal, it had been too much in too little time. I could only imagine what was like to have people really worrying over me. As she went to the shower, Vallery had her daily training session in a few hours, so she went to her room to rest up a bit. I, on the other hand, looked at the nurse’s notes. Charlie would need energy to get back on her feet. So, I looked at the time once again. In an hour, everyone would start their day and I knew Charlie would avoid the residents for a little bit longer, even if they did not hate her. I left our room and walked straight to the kitchen and the only way in and out of the kitchen was through the dinner room, so when I was on my way out, Charlie was on her way in. I felt her anxiety before seeing her and I sent her out, just to avoid her having a breakdown, mainly because I would not know how to handle it. We ended up in the Greenhouse and after eating, we returned to our room.
Charlie was already stressing out for being in lockdown, so I thought it would be a good idea to sneak out and as soon as I told her, she was in, of course she was in. So, we put a glamour on our room and left premises through a portal. Once we were out and away from the institute, we had to take a few moments for Charlie to recover from all the energy used to portal us out. She used an energy rune and we started walking through the streets of London. Charlie seemed happier being outside and after lunch, we kept wandering around and also shopping. “How do you even manage to have mundane currency if we do not even exist in their world?” I questioned because she always managed to have mundane things. “Tony kinda adopted me, so he gave me an unlimited access to his account and as I am associated to him, a few brands send me things.” That explained why she had such exclusive things.
“We should head back.” I added when I saw some clouds getting darker and some thunder scaring the rest of the people in London. “Sure, but can we eat something before?” She said as it was time for dinner and she needed food. I nodded and we got into some restaurant and just then, Charlie sent Tony a video of her in London. His reply was immediate through a video call. Once we ended eating, we portaled into our room and by then, the thunders were more prominent and I let Charlie lay on her bed. When the lightings were stronger, I realized that Thor had arrived so I went to find him. “I’m going to get a few rounds out, so no one suspects a thing.” She nodded and everyone was so shocked as London was not a city where you could see electrical storms, so most of the resident were kind of marveled by the event as I walked to the backyard. “What is going on?” Thor questioned as I went to hug him.
“I think it’s better if she tells you, so just be for her. She needs it.” He nodded and walked off as I walked around, telling everyone that I had been in the library all afternoon. It was then, when I heard that Evelyn was investigating about some portals opened near premises.  That was us, which meant we had to be way more careful or not go out, especially if Charlie was still weak.
