CHARLOTTE'S POV

He was unprotected and we did not know what would be S.H.I.E.L.D.'s plan for him and all that made me feel like it was our duty to protect him, no matter the cost. Once he was somehow 'safe' under S.H.I.E.L.D. protection, we returned to our institute. Jace was onto us and we let him know everything we had just witnessed, there was not anything to hide, except the part where I told Steve that I would come back for him. We explained and returned to our usual schedule. We had to organize Halloween's party and we had to make our costumes. "Charlie, I think it's time we go to the museum and investigate a bit more of Cap and S.H.I.E.L.D." I nodded, because it was our new fake mission and we needed to have every piece of information to handle this correctly and anticipate S.H.I.E.L.D.'s moves. We took a car and went like mundanes and it took us more than four hours to get to DC.

Cath recorded everything with her Stark sunglasses, so we could not leave any detail out. Once we got back to the institute, we read and listened to every interview and report they had over the Howling Commandos. Steve had been a good man and there was a reason he had came back. We just had to figure it out. The following morning, while Cath was on her workshop I sneaked into the S.H.I.E.L.D building, just to find out that Steve had been taken to a secret location and that made me lose it. They were hiding him and I did not know why I was mad about that. My instinct told me they were trying to use him without considering the suffering he had gone through. They needed to treat the trauma he had endured over all these years. By the time I was back at the institute, I felt the annoyance of my parabatai, so I went to find her. There were some soldiers that were acting like idiots, while the rest tried to train.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked, loud enough for them to hear. "You do realize that the Combat Fest is in a few days? And we're not the ones that are going to be embarrassed for being hit by a younger soldier. So, let's fight." I told one of the idiots and he dared to smile. We both stepped on the ring and I just took my hair in a ponytail. I was wearing my normal going out clothes and he thought a dress would restrain me to kick his ass. Catherine had taught me how to fight and Natasha had given me some tips to fight in lady clothes. He felt so confident by his moves, but he sucked at fighting. I knocked him out about three times before he gave up. "I was just a year under her training, so use her time wisely. If not, then you're all going to fail and get kicked out." I punched a few others on my way out, just so they saw that I was not fluffing. As I got to my room, I screamed and hit the punching bag.

"What the hell just happened?" Jace asked as he entered my room. "Shitty soldiers." I grunted as I kept hitting the bag. "Hey, talk to me. What's going on?" I could not talk, because I did not know what I was feeling. "Just mood swings, Jace. I'm fine. I just have to learn how to regulate this parabatai thing." Jace nodded and left me deal with my feelings. I went to the shower and just let the water take out my anger. "Dude, what's going on?" Cath asked and I could not lie to her. "I don't FUCKING know, dude. I think it's a mixture of things." I explained as hit the bag a few more times before I lay on my bed. "Is it because of Cap?" She dared to ask and I was thankful for that. "They moved him and I think they are trying to use him without treating the trauma." Cath sighed annoyed as she understood me and I smiled. "Nice fight, by the way." She told me and we both giggled.

"We'll track him down. We'll find him and help him deal with all his issues, just be patient. He had been waiting for 70 years for a reason and WE found him, so, don't stress over this. There's a reason why we were the ones who found him." He had been waiting seventy years for a reason, so we should do our job the best we could. This time, he was on his own and I felt bad for that.
