CHARLOTTE'S POV

It had been six days since Matt met Cath and they had been seeing each other every day since they met. I was happy for them. Even though faeries were tricky, Matt was really good and he would be a really nice pair for her. She needed to put herself out in the world so she could find out what she really wanted and what she liked. Matt could help her in that, so I supported them. They looked cute together and Matt made her step out of her comfort zone and I liked that. "You okay?" Jace asked and I looked at him with dreamy eyes. "Yeah. I just want some peace of mind." He brought my chair closer to him and put his arm around my waist to sit me on his leg. "I will always be there for you, even if we get mad at each other." He kissed my forehead and lingered there. "Wanna dance?" He questioned and I nodded, so we went next to Cath and Matt and enjoyed a few songs acting like crazy.

After the event, we all took separate ways. Catherine and Matt went to some bookstore and Jace returned to the institute as I walked to Central Park. I got lost on it for hours, I really did not want to think too much and Central Park had a protective perimeter so no demons were allowed to enter, so it was a really safe place. I climbed a tree and stayed there. I needed to find peace and balance within my thoughts and as much as I tried to focus on work, my mind drifted to my own life. It was not like it really hurt me the fact that Justin was about to get married or the fact that Thor fell head over heels with this astronomer. It was the fact that they had found that special one that made them feel like they had won the lottery and right then, I was jealous of them. My logical part said that they were older than me so they had found that special one, so I had to be patient. But the stupid and selfish part of me, did not understand that.

It was already morning, when I decided to stop and climbed off the tree. Around the corner, I found Cath with two cups of coffee and a bag. "Thought you might need this." I smiled and hugged her, I had to change clothes. "Thanks." I had the first sip and I felt so much better. "Steve just texted." I stared at her. "They're moving him today, so he needs us to take the dog before S.H.I.E.L.D takes him." I opened a portal and walked to the house. Steve had hidden the dog in his room and we took him out by the window, opened another portal and brought him to the institute. As Cath stayed with Sebby, I returned to the cabin. Steve was long gone now, but he had left a shirt behind. I took it and tracked him down. He was in D.C., so I returned to the institute, left the shirt on my drawers and portaled to the building's alley. I texted him and his response was immediate, his apartment was number four and he suggested me to take the emergency stairs as he felt monitored.

I took my sunglasses out of my pocket and scanned the building. It was wired and there were some agents. I changed the configuration just while I was there, because if the system failed all the time, S.H.I.E.L.D would know something was up. Once that was ready, I climbed the stairs and got into his apartment. "You're very skilled to be nineteen." His words made me laugh. "You're not too bad for ninety-three." He was serious for a moment and then he put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer. "Did you find Sebby?" His question made me stare at his lips and that might be the worst mistake I have ever done, because I just started kissing him. When I realized that we were actually kissing, I stopped and sighed as he breathed away from me. "You're driving me crazy." I chuckled and caressed his face. "You don't have any idea." After those words, I walked around the apartment and almost freaked out when I saw the vinyl player.

"I'll bring some music next time I'm here." He just smiled and kept showing me his new apartment. He also added that there was a gym nearby and an amazing coffee house that we must visit and it almost felt like a date, so awkwardly I nodded, not really knowing if it was indeed a date. I really did not know why I was acting this weird, this was not my first relationship, so, why?
