CHARLOTTE'S POV

I had just gotten back to the institute when Catherine got into my room. "I need to sleep for five minutes before you yell at me." She looked me confused but she just left the room. I fell asleep and woke up when Jace threw me iced water. "What the fuck?" I screamed and he looked at me. "What the hell, Charlie? You're supposed to teach the tech workshop!" I looked at the time and I was an hour late. "Fuck!" Jace was mad at me and I did not really know what to do to make him forgive me, so I just took a shower and got to the technological room. "That's mainly what we did last year and we had fun developing this app. Now, I leave you with the master." Catherine got off the stage and I walked up. "This year we have a very high stake to reach, but I also have new ideas and I know how to make it funnier and attractive to mundanes. I need all of you in groups of four people, don't bother I already made the groups."

I started calling out their names and each group took their station. As the groups were ready in their spots, I explained what I wanted and how I wanted it. We would use the demo algorithms to start. "So, what I need from you now are ideas to create another app." I had some ideas in mind, but I wanted them to help. "We could add a time limit." Catherine spoke from the back of the room. "Okay, keep going." I supported my weight on some desk. "Instagram has no time limit, so what mundanes upload there, stays there forever. So, what if in this new app we put a limit, where after a few hours, the picture vanishes for them, but stays in our servers." I smiled at that idea; it was a great input. I wrote it down on the board and asked for the next idea. "When we came up with Photoshop, we realized that people liked to cover some imperfections and create some side stories, so we could add like filters." Another one added.

I was already imagining how could we make that work. "We can also add a privacy limit." Someone new said and I was confused. "We should give them the thought of them controlling their privacy." That was better. "So, they can 'choose' who they show their posts to." We all nodded at that, so I wrote it down the board. "It also has to have this space to text and add text to their pictures." Jace's idea was good and I just added it to the board. "It seems to me we're on an excellent path. Now, each group needs to work on your timeline." I walked off the stage and monitored the whole thing as I gave them ideas of my own. Jace was still mad at me, but he worked with Catherine and their group on the brand of the new product. When the afternoon ended, everyone left and I stayed behind with Catherine. "Dude, Jace wants to kill you." I just closed my eyes at her silent comment. "I know." As I ended saying that, Jace got in and I stopped doing what I was doing.

"Is that what London taught you? Sneaking around?" I sighed, because I deserved that. "I already told you, the time zone is killing me, just give a week." Jace just stared at me and just looked down. "Talk with Cath about the ceremony and stop making me mad." I nodded and kissed his cheek as I got out of the room followed by Catherine. "I have a lot to lose here, so I better do what he told me." I guided Cath to her room and I told her about the ceremony and she just nodded, Jace had already explained the whole thing. I walked into Jace's office and told him we were on for tomorrow's ceremony. "Is everything okay, Charlie?" I shook my head. "Do I need to take you off the mission?" I shook my head once again. This was the only thing I had left; I could not lose it too. "No, I'm okay. Just give me a week to get back to normal." He nodded and I just walked to my own room. I had to find a way to stay in the mission and to keep my sanity within the institute.

I had a few messages from Justin and I needed to reply before I was caught on my lie to Jace. "Babe, I'll be there in about two hours. Let me sort some things at work and I'll be right there." I left Justin a voice message and hung up. This was getting too complicated, Jace was on my ass and soon enough, all this would blow in my face.
