CATHERINE'S POV

Steve was restless and using his authority, he sneaked into the lower levels of the helicarrier. "If you're not sure of this, you shouldn't do it." I told him when he hesitated with the door. "Tony is right and I just want to know if I can trust my guts." His answer was exactly what I wanted to hear. "Up until a few weeks, you couldn't. So, let's see if you're back on the right path." I did not want to mock him, but it came out that way, but he did not mind or maybe he did not care at all. He opened the door and there were weapons and I was confused. "If they are working on energy, why there are weapons here?" Steve kept looking around and when he opened a box, he recognized the weapons. "These are H.Y.D.R.A.'s weapons from the 40s. They are trying to do the same as them." And then he took some gun and walked out. "Shit is going up." I spoke to Charlie's mind. "Another shit already hit the fan here, come over." I ran behind Steve and as we got in, Thor and Nat got in.

As they discussed the scepter started glowing and Charlie whispered on Thor's ear that they should stop doing that. Steve caught that and started trying to pick a fight with Tony. I put myself between them and then Dr. Banner took the scepter and just then, they all stopped fighting. A few seconds later, an explosion made us snap out of our thoughts and as Tony protected me, Steve covered us both. "Charlie!" I whispered and ran to her. She was under Thor's body. "Thank you for covering her, but she can protect herself." I told him and walked away with Charlie. "Dude, stop." She said to me as Thor followed us. "I really can't control this. He hurt you, I can't pretend nothing happened." The words just came out and Charlie realized I was having a panic attack. "Everything is going great and I really need you focused now, we are being attacked and they need us. We're a team and I can't control all this without you trying it." I swallowed my fears and activated my runes.

"The helicarrier is being invaded by Loki's people, so help the agents, don't do anything stupid." My words made her roll her eyes and before she could add the rest, I fought a few agents. "They are all possessed." Charlie spoke as I hit someone. "We can't use our weapons on them." I replied as I heard Charlie fight on the other side. "I read once about recalibrating the brain waves could affect the behavior of people." I said and Charlie hummed. "Let me try it and I'll get back to you in a moment." I giggled and continued looking for more bad agents. "You're very smart, because it works. It has to be very, very hard though." I laughed and instead of killing the rest, we just hit them really hard. It was then, when we heard Thor scream and I felt the desperation on Charlie. "He's- He's fine." I said as I tried to recover from what I had just seen. "Where are you?" Charlie asked and I just walked to Agent Coulson and help him press the weapon he had on his hands.

A few seconds later, Nick Fury got there and I tracked Charlie. "Loki threw Thor out of the ship and killed Agent Coulson." Charlie just hugged me and then we felt the protective side of Tony. "We still have work to do." His words were true. We have not finished yet. Steve and Tony were called to the meeting room and told them officially the news. When they were about to have a disagreement, they started to realize details from Loki's plan. "Who is still here?" Steve asked us. "Nat and Clint." Charlie answered as she ended rearranging her weapons on her. "You're not coming." He said and Charlie got as closer as she could. "And who's going to stop me? You?" I mimicked her movements and walked out. "What do you need?" We asked Tony, who was fixing his suit. "Can you plug that and Cath, can you hold this?" We nodded and helped him. A few minutes later, he was ready and we all walked to the quinjet and flew to New York with the rest of the team.

"Girls, I'm going to side with Captain here and please, leave." Tony said and Charlie shook her head. "We're staying and we're doing what you can't. So, please focus on yourself." Charlie was mad as they kept seeing her as someone fragile and she was done with it. After those words, Nat smiled and incorporated us in her duties.
