CHARLOTTE'S POV

Thor got just in time as we all were trying to fight the Chitauri and we realized that people should not be around, so as the superheroes did their thing, Cath and I made a perimeter. Some people were stupid enough to stay and record what was happening and I was already imagining the hell Jace would give me. The Chitauri kept popping out so we started fighting them. I had so much confusion within, that taking it out with bad creatures was perfect. We fought and fought and it came to a moment when it was done. Until Tony said that there was a missile coming and he took it straight to the portal. As they were finishing that, we ran to Stark's Tower and trapped Loki. "You can't escape." Catherine said and Loki looked at us like we were too weak to fight him. "Don't test me, Loki." I added and I was about to engage on a fight with him, when Hulk got in the room and moved him like a piece of paper.

At least all those bumps, recalibrated his brain and it was the same old Loki. I smiled at him. "Wish you the best." I whispered to his mind and he almost screamed. I laughed as Cath went to hug me. "First mundane mission, completed." We both smiled and escorted the Tesseract back to Asgard, where it belonged. As everybody went different ways, Cath and I went back to the institute. We had been two days out and New York City was destroyed. As we entered the institute, we were engulfed by arms. "What the hell happened?" Cath asked. "Who died?" I questioned and Izzy and Simon just kept hugging us. "You're scaring me, what happened?" Cath and I said at the same time and then we heard the alarm went off. We ran to the conference room, but we were stopped by Simon. "None of you can get in." He whispered as Izzy looked around. "Is everyone safe?" Catherine's question made me think that we might have casualties over the attack in New York.

"Lady Clave is coming for you two, as apparently the Clave said you were helping Loki in his plan." I blinked twice before looking at Catherine, who was as perplexed as me. "We can't really escape now." I added and Izzy took my hand off the knob. "They are actually coming for you. Cath is underage and the law protects her on her year off." I did not know what to say right then. If I walk away, the institute would be jeopardized as they were covering my whereabouts and if I walked inside, I would face unknown things. They would not understand. The only thing they wanted was to catch me, even if I did not do anything wrong. "I can't let Jace deal with this. I'm going in and you are going to be supportive and will find a way to help me out. Is that clear?" Izzy nodded, not very convinced and then I looked at Simon, who shook his head. "They've been onto me since last year. They will come back around and maybe next time they'll come for Cath and I can't really do that."

Simon was not very happy, but he sighed and then my sight was fixed on Catherine. "Hold your shit together, be brave and find me, okay?" Catherine just grunted and activated her bravery rune and I opened the door. "I heard you were looking for me." I stood straight and stared at Lady Clave, she smiled and turned to me. "As the matter of fact, I'm looking for both of you." She pointed at Catherine and that made me mad. "You can't take her without the permission of the legal guardian and as for this year, it's Mr. Herondale and I can bet my life, he's not on board with your idea." She seemed surprised that I knew all that and after a few seconds of shock, she walked to me. "Don't say anything, Charlotte." Clary added as Jace was furious. "By the authority of the Clave, I'm placing you under arrest." It hurt me the fact that I had to hear those words towards me, but I knew all they had were lies. "On what charges?" She was surprised that I was putting resistance.

"Treason." I sighed and let her open the portal to Alicante, because she would not stop and I was too tired to keep this going. Jace's face looked how broken he was, but I just showed a tiny smile at him and then, we were gone. The passing was not right, meaning the portal was not right, which freaked me out. I tried to communicate with Cath, but it did not work. Fuck.
