CATHERINE'S POV

By our fifth day in Stark, Charlie had organized a video meeting with Tony, mainly because if she would be in charge of the armory in London, she needed weapons. He agreed and asked us to go there on Saturday. We nodded and after a while, we hung up. "What's really going on, Cath?" She questioned and I made a face. "I miss New York." She giggled, because she knew the feeling and just hugged me. "New York or Matt?" I sighed again and groaned. "Just a few more weeks, Cath, besides, you really have to look for someone new." As she said that, I realized that those words were for both of us. Maybe I should mention her that Steve had been looking for her before coming. "What about Steve?" I found myself questioning. "I miss him, if that's what you're asking." I nodded, encouraging her to keep talking, but without pressing her to tell me more. I knew how hard was for her to let me in, even after becoming parabatai.

"But I don't know. I mean, I know that if he smiles at me, I will be his again, no brainer, but I'm not sure that I want to go there again." Yeah, I should not bring him up ever again. "Well, before we jump into new boos." I stopped for a second, but I had to tell her. "Steve was waiting for you outside the institute the day we left." She sighed and we kept working like nothing had happened, she needed to do it on her own and I totally understood that. When our shift ended in London, Charlie and I went back to New York, so we could go to Los Angeles first thing in the morning. Tony had not slept since the last time we made him sleep, about a week ago, so we modified a few things in the growing collection of suits he kept creating. By night, Pepper signed off the permission to take the special weapons to London. Charlie and I would be in charge of transportation so, all they had to do was make them.

As much as we tried to take Tony out of the lab, he was adamant to get out, this did not look good, but as our directors had told us, we could not get involved in mundanes issues, even if they did not look like that. Before leaving Malibu, we put the sleeping rune on Tony and we got back to London. That Sunday I stayed in bed all day, I missed Matt, I missed New York and I was over thinking my decision to come back to London, maybe if I would have stayed there, I could have made a life with him. On the other hand, I did not want to get serious with the first guy I met and we would have had a long way as he was a Downworlder and he was not my other half. So, I kept thinking on what Charlie said. I needed to see the world, to put myself out there and live my life before setting into adulthood. "Your thoughts have me dizzy. What's going on now?" Charlie asked and I giggled. "I want a night stand." I said and Charlie chuckled out loud.

"I'm not joking. I don't want to be the girl who gets married to the first guy she dated and I don't want to keep being miserable because of Matt." Charlie jumped out of her bed, put a glamour on Sebby and opened our closet. It was like she had been waiting for this moment all her life. As Charlie was too into the outfits, I got into the shower. I never really cared about how people saw me as the clothes of London's institute were rather functional than fashionable, but right then, I wanted to be attractive for everyone. So, once I got off the shower, I walked straight to Charlie so I could snatch her outfit, but she just handed it to me without words. As I got dressed, she showered and then we did our makeup. It was almost ten when we went out and drove to the club. Kieran was there and he introduced us to some people in the VIP lounge. Charlie danced with Kieran as I talked with some warlock that was there.

It was his first time in the club and he was already enjoying the view. After a while just ogling at each other, I stood up and took him to the dancefloor. We stayed dancing and drinking a few stronger things and then, we disappeared from the rest for a while. His kisses were addictive and I wanted more. It seemed dangerous, mysterious and I was totally okay with it.
