CATHERINE'S POV

Our days off were gone in a blink of an eye and the days after that, the weeks passed by. By the end of November, we were invited to New York's Institute's Thanksgiving and we had been granted to go. Charlotte was the most excited about it as she missed the food of her old home and all the festivities that New York always had. We had arrived earlier and we went to Charlie's room immediately as she wanted to sleep a bit before the party. Since the stabbing episode, she had been taking a time to slow down, to catch up and just be, things that she never did before; in other words, she was still afraid. The dinner went smoothly and by the end of the night, we were at the Stark's party and Tony named us officially ambassadors of the company in London, which meant, we were working for him, hence, he kept putting money into our accounts; so, we needed to keep posting a lot of this online.

Being ambassador of the brand meant that we had to travel a lot and to keep promoting it on our social media which was exciting as a year ago I had never left the institute and I did not even have a passport and now we were ambassadors from his industry. We also had to go to the company at least once a week, meaning we had new schedules. By five in the morning, we returned home. The days kept advancing and suddenly, we were in December and getting ready for the Christmas party that the London's institute was throwing. "So, did you tell the guys yet?" I asked as we were training. "Tell them what?" She replied as she punched the bag. "For the party, your family can come and stay up until boxing day." My response got her even more confused. "Boxing day is the day after Christmas day, in London it usually means soccer day, so, yeah." She shook her head and kept hitting. "I didn't know, I'll see if they can come."

I knew she wanted to, but as all of them had important jobs within the Shadow World, coming was a bit harder for them. I would text Thor, just in case he was available. We kept training until noon and then we went shopping. We needed gifts and we could not postpone this any longer. The days kept passing by and by the Christmas party, all the gang from New York had arrived. Charlie was happy and they invited us two to the New Year's party. With everything I had heard about that specific holiday in New York, I wanted to go, hopefully, we did not have any mission by then. By Christmas morning, we exchanged presents and just had a very familiar breakfast. We were happy and times like this showed us how familiar we could be, even if we were in the other side of the planet. The familiar environment came to an end when the New York gang left and everything in London came back to normal.

The days passed by and the last day of the year had arrived. Luckily, we had the night off so we portal ourselves to New York and went to the party of our new boss. Tony. We posted a few pictures on Instagram and just had fun around. When the party ended, we went to eat to some place with Tony and our friends, before returning to London. We would start a new year and that meant that I just had six more months before going to a new home. Charlie had taught me a few things related to living arrangements with strangers and I was ready to leave London. We went to have breakfast and it was a big surprise to see Evelyn in front with two familiar faces. I looked at Charlie, who was just as surprised as me, but she never showed an ounce of fear. The whispers started getting louder and they were silenced when Evelyn started talking. "Please welcome back to Mr. Verlac and Mr. Grantfury." I felt my heart stop.

"They did their sentence and they are ready to start all over." I could not believe what I was hearing and yet, I just hoped that nothing was like their previous actions. Since the incident, the institute changed and included Charlie, but I was afraid that it could change now they were back. I just hoped they had learned their lesson, otherwise these months would be really long.
