CATHERINE'S POV

As I was a few meters from her, I could feel how scared and mad she was. They had her wearing only some underwear and she had some marks on her arms, some bruises on her face and a very nasty wound on her abdomen, near her scar. "By the Angel!" I whispered and Clint hugged me and turned me so I did not see her. "I'm going to kill them." I heard Steve's whisper as Jace and Magnus walked to her. Jace took out his jacket to cover her body and held her. "We weren't notified of the trial. We have a case and witnesses that support her innocence." Magnus said and through his voice we all could notice how mad he was. Jia, the Consul looked at Lady Clave. "You told the jury that they had declined the trial." Lady Clave had hoped us to miss the trial. "This has been a witch hunt for months." Magnus added as he walked to the Consul and gave her all our defense and she was surprised of all that as she did not know anything about it.

"You wanted a trial; we brought you a trial." Magnus continued and we all sat down as I could feel Steve's confused stare on me and I just ignored him as it was not the right time to explain everything to him. The trial started and the prosecutor's case was weak, even I knew that, as much as Lady Clave tried to instigate on our witnesses, they just said the truth. Magnus started questioning Steve and as he was using his uniform, Jia accepted his words. Clint explained how the things had started and mentioned that we were not even near when Loki arrived. Then, Nat just said how brave we had been to fight outer space creatures without fearing for our lives. Finally, Magnus called Tony and he just explained everything, he had brought videos and all the needed proof we might need, which came in handy as Jia was a very difficult Consul to please. Alec had my hand on his as I was trembling by just seeing Charlie hurt, it was like she had given up in two days.

It was a full surprise when Lady Clave called me, I looked at Magnus and he just nodded. I sighed and walked there, afraid of whatever she might say. "What can you say that we haven't heard before?" I stared at her as she had to ask specific questions. When she realized that I would not answer, she changed the question. "Were you and your parabatai under a spell?" I looked at her. "No. The only ones under spells were Mr. Barton, Dr. Selvig, Loki Odinson and a few other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents." My answer was exactly what Lady Clave needed and I had fallen on her game. "Do you or your parabatai have any relationship with Loki Odinson?" That was a tricky question. "Not at the moment." Lady Clave saw that as an invitation and I already knew what she was going to ask now. "How did you meet Loki?" I put my hands on my legs. "I met him last year, when Thor went to London." Charlie caught where this was going and she was extremely mad.

"Why was Thor on Earth?" I looked at Charlie, who just nodded. "He was her boyfriend." I caught Nat's smirk and the frown on Steve. "They went with us to the Instagram pre-launch in London." Lady Clave did not have anything else to say. Magnus stood up and paced calmly in front of me. "What can you tell me of Charlotte?" I smiled slightly. "She cares about everyone and she's always there when I need it and she definitely wasn't hurt when she took her from the institute two days ago." Magnus nodded and helped me get off. "Five-minute-recess and I will be back with the verdict." Some guards took Charlie away as Magnus and Lady Clave followed Consul Penhallow. "I have so many questions, but I can't even digest all this." Clint said and I chuckled. "Is she going to be okay?" Tony asked and I nodded, although I did not know. "Give her time and she will be perfect." I hated myself when I said that, because I knew that Charlie would never be the same.

Lady Clave had tortured her for no apparent reason and yet her only solution was to kill her or derune her and I still did not understand what they won with her deruned. Steve exuded pain and I held his hand as I mentally asked him if he was hurt. He just shocked his head and looked up, hiding his emotions. "Everything will be over in a bit." I told to his mind and he just nodded once.
