CATHERINE POV

As I heard that the blade was contaminated, my mind shut off. Charlie seemed to join the dots and sighed relieved before taking out the patch. The wound was still there and it did not look very good. “Did you use another rune? How many Iratze did you use?” Evelyn’s questions were fast and full of worry and Charlie was barely present. “I activated an Iratze on her. She was crying on her sleep and holding her side. This morning she applied two more Iratze and a few energy runes.” I replied unfolding the truth. Evelyn took a piece of paper and sent a message over the Shadow World fire mail. Two seconds later a portal opened and Magnus walked through it. “How long since she’s like this?” He asked already worried for Charlie and I did not blame him. It did not look good and cataplasm was a lethal poison. It was intended to kill you. As the realization came to me, I took off and went to his room.
“YOU ARE THE BIGGEST WANKER IN THE HISTORY!” I screamed at him, catching his attention. “YOU’RE A COWARD AND I HOPE YOUR NEW DIRECTOR IS A PAIN IN THE ASS, BECAUSE IF NOT, I WILL GO AND KICK YOUR FACE!” My threat made him laugh and that burned me even more. “It wasn’t that bad, chill out.” And then it hit me. He did not know the actual reason or maybe he was playing dumb to get off the hook. “It wasn’t that bad?” Are you kidding me right now? “CATAPLASM IS A LETHAL POISON YOU IDIOT!” His face told me exactly what I was afraid of. "It was just a little stab, it’s not like I stabbed her to death and left her there to die. She walked away and today she seemed pretty good.” I could not believe the things he was saying. Before I could stop myself, I knocked him out and left the room without even checking if he was alright or not and just went back to the room where I had left Charlie, Evelyn and Magnus.
“She needs it, now.” Magnus screamed at Evelyn and I stood there, watching how desperate Magnus was. “I need energy.” He added and I activated my energy rune and kneeled next to him. “Great.” He held my left hand and with his right hand started to pour magic into Charlie’s body. “Activate her Iratze.” He told me and I did. I was feeling a bit dizzy and I activated once again my energy rune. I could feel how every little ounce of energy flew out of my body and yet, Charlie kept being unconscious over the sofa. I was so weak that I slowly started falling to the side. “Let me have the next round.” Evelyn said as she activated my resting rune. I was conscious, but too tired to have the eyes open, but I could hear everything that they were saying. Suddenly, Magnus stopped talking and I sat on the floor. “She’s taking more color.” He added and I nodded as I looked at Charlie. She had her cheeks a bit more colored, but she still looked unconscious to me.
Slowly, she woke up and we all sighed relieved, we had saved the day, but now everything had gotten more complicated. If Magnus was here meant that Alec and Jace already knew about the whole thing and they would make the guilty ones pay for what they did to their girl. Magnus returned home after a few minutes and I took Charlie to my room for her to rest. She had woken up for a split second and immediately she was unconscious again. Evelyn came by with the nurse after a while and as the nurse checked on Charlie, I paced like a caged lion. “You need to reply her messages and fill her in whatever she might need.” I nodded as I already knew I had to do that. “Her brothers do not know anything about it, so just cover for her.” I nodded again as I tried to forget the whole issue. When they left, I sat on a chair next to her bed and waited for her to wake up, but she did not.
Vallery brought me some lunch when I did not appear on the dining room and then, we both stayed there waiting. At six, Jace started texting her and I was freaking out. “Tell him she’s asleep.” I nodded, because that was true. Then, it was Alec, so I said the same. Finally, at midnight, I texted Thor, hoping for him to be free. He texted back and said he might be around tomorrow.
