CHARLOTTE'S POV

Steve hated guns, so he mainly fought with his bare hands and his shield and yet, he was smart enough to know when he had to use the enemy's weapons. As he fought his way in to the helicarrier to change the first chip, Sam did it in the second and when they were about to go for the third. Bucky arrived and he used weapons. He shot to Sam's wings and he was out of the mission, leaving Steve to change the last chip. Cath told me she would go and help Sam as the building was collapsing, leaving me to help Steve as Bucky took down the air support Steve might have gotten. Steve got to the third and last helicarrier and so did Bucky. "Of course, helicarrier Charlie had to be the difficult one." He whispered as I chuckled. "Focus, babe." I told him from the bottom. "Go and evacuate the rest, Charlie. I'm going to be fine." I knew he was lying, but there were a lot of people to evacuate, so I left him alone and went back to the Triskelion.

When most of the people were out and S.T.R.I.K.E. went to kill more S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, I followed and killed most of the bad guys, even if I was not allowed to get involved in mundanes issues. As the rest of the people that was still in the building was not freaking out or hurt or dead, I went back to the helicarrier. Bucky had gotten to the chips first and he was standing in front of them, blocking the way for Steve to change it. Steve was pleading Bucky to remember him and to not force him to hit him, but Bucky just wanted to end his mission. As they fought, Bucky shot Steve. It was a graze, but he felt it and I started panicking. Steve kept fighting and opened the chip holder, but Bucky kept throwing punches to him. And so, they fell from the upper level of the helicarrier and kept fighting. Bucky did not recognize Steve and it hurt me, because he had remembered him previously.

When Bucky stabbed Steve, I draw the strength rune on Steve and somehow, he could dominate Bucky. When he was unconscious, Steve took the chip and run up again as he was against time. He had one minute to change the chip, otherwise the Project Insight would activate and millions of people would die. Suddenly, shots started to get fired. Bucky shot Steve in the leg and immediately after in the back and Steve was really running out of time. I jumped up there and just draw another rune on him as I could not put the chip myself and he put the last chip. "Charlie locked." I smiled at him, but he was bleeding, a lot. "Okay, Cap, get out of there." Maria Hill got the target on the helicarrier. "Fire now." He said and I went to help him stand. "We need to go." I told him and helped him stand. "I can't leave him. Not again." It was then when a huge thing fell over Bucky and I knew I had lost Steve.

"Leave." He commanded and I started crying, he pecked my lips and jumped to Bucky. Bucky was trapped and even though Steve had freed him he fought him back again. "You know me." Bucky hit Steve. "No, I don't!" Bucky screamed in frustration. "Bucky, you've known me your whole life." Bucky hit Steve again, but he gave up for the first time. "Your name is James Buchanan Barnes." He would not kill his best friend. "Shut up!" Steve took off his helmet and dropped his shield out of the helicarrier. "I'm not gonna fight you. You're my friend." I knew I had lost him, because Bucky did not recognize him. "You're my mission." I cried harder as he punched Steve repeatedly across his face. "You're my mission!" He kept repeating. "Then finish it." Bucky hesitated holding his fist up. "Cause I'm with you to the end of the line." Just then, Bucky looked at Steve as if he was starting to remember, but it was too late. Steve fell off the helicarrier as Bucky watched from the Helicarrier.

Bucky looked at me and his eyes went soft once again. He jumped and I followed him. He pulled Steve out of the water. "Don't leave me." I prayed as Bucky left us there. A few minutes later, Cath got there and we took him to the hospital. As Steve was in surgery, Cath confessed what she had done and I did not know how to be supportive. This was too much. Hell had arrived.
