CATHERINE'S POV

As I left the microphone behind, I took Loki's hand to the dance floor and he let me. His smile could have brightened the whole world if he would not have been so corrupted by hatred and jealousy. I just had met him, that was for sure, but I had that specific trait. It was easy for me to read people and Loki had been an easy target. His whole persona screamed some resentment for something, but again, I did not know him long enough to know what had him like that and a part of me was sad because of it. And yet, I tried my best to cheer him up. We danced, we drank, we played and just had fun away from the love-birds. I had only known Loki for a few hours, but I felt like I could see through him, even if he was the God of Mischief. After just talking for a few minutes, I realized why he and Thor had this weird competition. Anyone could have said it was related to the throne, but it was deeper than that. It was related to their Father.

So, I understood that somehow, Loki was afraid that Thor would get the throne by marrying someone like Charlie, but I knew her enough to know that she would not leave. "You do realize that she won't leave Earth, like never, right?" I did not know where all that was coming out of. "I know and Thor knows that too, he's just too stubborn to let her go." The feeling was mutual though. Charlie knew that our world would never let her go and live her life as a mundane with Thor, unless she was deruned and I was sure as hell that she would rather die than be without her runes. We both stayed in silence after that. "Look, make a wish." I told him as a shooting star ran across the sky. "That's a very dumb, but appealing way to look at a meteor." I shot him a glare and he apologized with his eyes and closed them as he made a wish. "You're crazy, I like that." He added lightly and I smiled at that and we kept talking about stars and Asgard.

When we saw the sun rising, we realized that we had spent the rest of the night away from the party. By then, we were turned to each other as we lay on the floor. "I think we should get back to your room before I do something really stupid." I giggled, but I did not know what he was talking about. So, we stood up and my feet hurt, so he took my shoes off. "Thank you." I whispered as I supported on his shoulders and we walked down to my room. As he was not supposed to be here still, so we nearly ran to the room and closed the door behind us. There, we found Thor and Charlie spooning. "I'm going to wake him up, because we have to get going." Loki said and put that devilish smile and I knew he was going to do something that I would regret later, so I grabbed lightly his hand. "Let me wake her up." He smiled and let me do it. When Charlie opened her eyes and saw me, her colors ran away.

I giggled and just eased her mind as Loki went to put his normal clothes. Thor woke up and when Loki came out, he went to pick his stuff. "So, how was your night?" Charlie questioned and Loki and I just stared at each other. "Not as eventful as yours." Loki teased and I high-fived him and we laughed. "By the Angel!" She said and laughed too. Thor went out and their goodbye started. "So, I might come back to take you to Asgard." Loki said and I felt my excitement in the clouds. "Are you for real?" As he nodded, I jumped to his arms and it felt good. It felt familiar, odd, but familiar. He left a kiss on my cheek and when Thor was able to let Charlie go, they left. "I'm surprised Loki did not kill you." Charlie said and I laughed, he was not mean. "He's just a bit misunderstood and if you knew him, you'd say the same." She sighed and I knew she had Thor's opinion on her, but she did not know him.

"I'm not saying anything, because Thor doesn't want me in between." I nodded and activated my energy rune. "New day, old life." I said as I went to the bathroom to take off the makeup and take a quick shower. After a while, we were ready to go back to our lives. We had fixed all the details about the app and now we just were stuck in how to sell this app to humans.
