CATHERINE'S POV

As soon as we got to the apartment, Charlie started moving from one place to another and talking to herself. "Do you need help?" I questioned, already knowing what would be her response. "I need to do it on my own, thank you though." I nodded, kissed her cheek and left her with her messy apartment alone. It was still lighted and I had to find an excuse to cover that we did not spy on S.H.I.E.L.D. as we were supposed to. After dinner, I went to my room and tried to keep investigating on the Sebastian issue, without bringing too much attention to me. The following day, Charlie had asked a sick day and Jace ran to her apartment, leaving me 'free' for the day and as soon as I ended the trainings of the day, I went out and started promoting Stark Industries. Charlie had started a reading program around kindergartens and parks and every place that involved kids and I jumped into her idea.

Tony was on board with reading to small kids as we were encouraging books and developing their imagination, plus that looked really good for his company and his popularity went up once again. I uploaded pictures and played games with the kids and it was a big surprise when I saw Matt liking the picture thread. I sent him a text to meet up and before I could finish my activity with kids, I saw him around. I smiled and waved at him as kids ended drawing. Once I was free, we went to have dinner. Mainly have a date on our own. I love my parabatai, but ever since we met Steve, her life had become so dramatic and she was not used to be weird or shy around guys. She flirted and got every guy she wanted, but Steve was not just another guy. On the contrary, Steve was shy with women and since he met Charlie, he somehow developed this new personality and he could act on his feelings, more than he ever did in his past life.

Now, I could not quite speak for his feelings, but I bet he wanted more than just be friends with Charlie. They were so cute together and yet; it was like they could not manage to be together peacefully. After all my thoughts, I called Charlie, just to make myself sure that she was okay and that the painting therapy had worked out. To my non surprise, she did not answer, but as I closed my eyes and activated my parabatai rune, I saw her and she was okay, so I just let her do her thing. I texted her one more time to tell her that we should start working on our missions, otherwise Jace would kill us. Once Charlie returned from her sick day, she lied in my bed looking at the ceiling. "I have a date with Steve on Sunday." I waited for her reaction to have one of my own, but she was not giving anything away. "Okay. Are we excited about it?" I asked and she shrugged. "I just don't want to get my hopes up." I hummed and just sighed.

"I think you should be excited and just have fun. It's not like he's the love of your life, so don't think too much." She nodded and then she looked at me. "What's up with you?" I smiled and told her everything about Matt. She was glad that at least one of us was happy. "So, you guys are back together." She awed. "Yeah. Both were important to each other and we did not want to lose that." My explanation brought a smile to her face. "Admit it already, best shag ever!" She giggled as I just shook my head. She kept teasing and I let her because she needed to think in any other thing but Steve. "When are you seeing him again?" I smiled and told her about all my afternoon with him. Charlie kept creating scenarios where we got married and had babies. "They'd be so beautiful and brave and I'm going to spoil them soooo bad." I listened to her babbling because I knew she would do it. My kids would be lucky to have her around, whoever was the dad.

Just then, I let myself wander in my own imagination and pictured myself with a family, but whenever I put Matt on the family, it did not feel right, so I started changing his appearance. Instead of light brown hair, I changed it to dark brown hair. Instead of green eyes, I changed them to steel blue eyes and just then I was okay with what my mind had come up with.
