CATHERINE'S POV

The month went away quickly and it was then, when Jace figured out the reason behind Charlie's house arrest. Our parabatai bond. The rules for us were to spend two years living in the same institute and we have been doing that for a year, now Charlie would go and live to the London institute with me, but that would not happen if she was under house arrest, hence we had to find a solution. Jace, being the head of the institute, made the needed questions and turned out that Magnus had filled for violence on a suspect without reason, which now was handy to get Charlie off the house arrest. Charlie was sick of being on lockdown and she was thankful to even be considered to go in a mission, even if it was to count the bricks on some street. Our first mission after the house arrest was to check on the Downworlders after the whole New York attack. As a institute we have been in lockdown, but they lived on their own, so we had to go and see how they were.

The warlocks were still a bit shaken up, but they were doing great. Vampires were still confused as the why someone from outer space would attack Earth without a valid reason. Werewolves were just happy to not be considered a threat anymore. And lastly, the faeries. Charlie gave me enough time to be with Matt. Since she was taken from the institute, we had stopped seeing each other on daily basis as my mind was not with him and he was so understanding that blew me away. He could be the perfect boyfriend if only I lived here indefinitely, but truth was that I had to go back home and I did not know how to feel about that. "I missed you." He said and I replied the same words. Once Charlie was back in the institute, I tried to lower my time with Matt and spend more time with her, although many times she would portal me back to him, saying that at least one of us had to have fun.

"I can't believe we only have one more month together." His words made me realize that we had in fact a month together. "Let's not think about that right now." I whispered as I kissed him. He had made me addicted to him, not his kisses or body, him. His company was the best he could have ever given me. He had given me so many emotions that I could not just let him go. He had been my first relationship and it had been so perfect that I did not know if I would ever feel like that again. We spent the rest of the day reading and discussing our books, watching movies, cuddling, kissing and I did not want to leave. "Stay." He said before kissing me and all my strength got running off his window. We kept kissing until we ended up naked and his caresses got on my skin. He was careful and passionate. I still could not compare it to anyone, but I knew faeries were really good in bed. By morning, he brought me breakfast and when we finished eating, I got a text from Charlie.

"Say goodbye and meet me here." And she sent a location. I looked at my phone and just did what she wanted me to do. "I'll come back tonight." I whispered between kisses and just then, Matt let me go. "I'll bring pizza." I said as I walked out and just walked to the location Charlie sent. She was already there and Sebby was there also. I kneeled to pet him and kiss his furry head. "Can you text Steve? I kind of stole Sebby." I rolled my eyes and did what she told me. "Why are we here, Charlie?" I questioned and she just smiled brightly. "C'mon." We walked inside a building and the doorman smiled sweetly at us. We got into the elevator and Sebby was entertained with his reflections as we giggled at him. The elevator stopped and Charlie walked out and guided us down the corridor and opened a door. We got in and she showed a smile and I knew what she had done. "You bought this." She nodded and let Sebby roam around.

I was happy for her, but I was worried at the same time. She caught my worries and went to explain her plan immediately and I sighed, she knew what she was doing and I trusted her choices. She was smart and she was able to do this and so much more. After what she had just gone through, I was more than sure that she was strong and brave and she could do anything.
