CHARLOTTE'S POV

February came and Cath and I were depressed by remembering our last Valentine's Day with our significant others. We had found this strong beverage that could actually get us drunk, so we drank it as we commented how depressed we were online. When we woke up, it was my birthday and we were not in London. We did not know where we were. We looked around and using our phones, we realized that we had gone to Japan overnight. "We fucked up. Big time." We both said to each other and quietly opened a portal back to London. There was Sebby sleeping as Leon was shirtless next to him on his room. "I had never had to block your faces and comments like last night." His words reverberated on my head. "Not so loud." Cath whispered and he chuckled lightly before hugging me. "Happy birthday, darling." I smiled widely and I let myself go with the drunken side of my brain and I jumped at him. "I don't really want to see you doing it, so I'll leave you to it. Bye."

Cath ran away from there and went out. Leon knew exactly what to do to push me off the edge and I loved every single second of it, even if I was going to be feeling guilty later. By noon, I put back on my clothes and left straight to my room. Even though I was single, I felt bad. It was like I had cheated on Steve and I felt dirty. I took a shower and tried to stop feeling guilty about it. I was single. I activated an Iratze, my head was killing me; slowly, the pain disappeared, but I was really hungry. Before lunch, I came back to my bubbly self. "Not fair." Cath said as I lay in bed. "You get a birthday shag as a present." She giggled and I followed as I had created a monster. "I'll get you one for your birthday, don't worry. I'm very resourceful in that department. Besides, I'm sure Kieran still wants to go in there." I chuckled and she blushed. "I hate you." She rolled over so I could not see her face. "I love you too, dude." My reply made her smile.

We kept talking about our week, avoiding talking about our secret investigation, there were eyes and ears everywhere. The month went away and suddenly it was Cath birthday and I fulfilled my word; I got her a one-night stand for her birthday. As we had already party hard for my twenty-first birthday, we took it slow and we got to the perfect present for us. Traveling. So, we made a list of places where we wanted to celebrate our next birthdays, so we would choose from there when the time came. By June, we went to the Worldwide Meeting in Australia and we had fun on the beaches. Surfing, swimming or just sunbathing. Australia's institute was way more relaxed than all the institutes around the world, they were tall and super cute too. They were known for the sea-surveillance and parties. We partied the three days and just over used the energy rune to be presentable in front of the rest.

June went by pretty fast and we received the news on Stark's that we were promoted to the New York's headquarters, which meant we would head back to my institute. Catherine was ready to leave London and I had to slow her down. "This will always be your home, so don't do anything stupid, like going to New York without saying goodbye." She sighed and nodded. "I don't like goodbyes." I hugged her; I knew that. "This is not a goodbye, it's a see-you-later-kind-of-moment, so stay the night, see you tomorrow." We hugged again and I got in the car, I had confirmed my plane ticket for today and I was happy to go back home. I missed my family. As I got out of the airport, Jace hugged me as he ran to me and I just giggled at his actions. We snapped a few pictures and I uploaded to my Instagram page with the caption 'Best Brother Ever.' We went to eat and just had fun for a little bit before he took me to my apartment.

"You know you still have your room back in the institute, right?" I nodded and kissed his cheek. "I thought you had turned it into a personal gym by now." I joked. "Almost. I kinda hoped you'd be back and I didn't want to move things around." His words made me laugh and we hugged again. "Tomorrow morning, breakfast at the institute. Don't be late." I nodded and walked in.
