CHARLOTTE'S POV

Tony knocked twice before entering. "Big day ahead, so dress up and let's begin." Both of us jumped out of bed and as I went down to help prepare breakfast, Cath went to the shower, then we changed spots. By eight in the morning, we were ready and Tony seemed fascinated by our enthusiasm, so we were teased a lot by it. By nine, we were on our way to Stark's building to finally put the app into his servers and our app could finally see the light on the mundane world. By midday, the servers were ready and Cath and I pressed the button that put the app out. We had created algorithms to promote the app in the other popular networks. By two in the afternoon, we had about ten thousand users and a few pictures around, mostly from magazines and TV shows. By midnight, we had surpassed our expectations of the first day. By night, we went to the beach and ended our day with a few beers.

We have been in Los Angeles for a week and we had everything we needed to go back to London and yet I needed to make a short stop in New York. Tony went to the place where his tower would be located and we went to the institute. "I'll come clean to Jace, so you might want to stay out of it. I won't give names, but he needs to know what happened." She just nodded. "I'm here for whatever you need." Once we were inside the institute, we went straight to Jace's office. "Pretty girl, you left me hanging the other day." Jace hugged me. It had been three months since I had left home and I had barely made it. After he hugged Cath, she stepped back and walked away. "Yeah, we had a situation with Tony, so we had to go back immediately to Los Angeles." I explained and he nodded. "You're supposed to be on your way to London, so what brought you here?" I sighed. "Are you okay?" He stood up and walked to me.

"What do you know about my stay in London?" I asked mainly to avoid digging myself. "For the reports I've seen, you've done a wonderful job there and the director wants to keep you there indefinitely." I opened my mouth because that was way too much information. "I'm guessing you didn't know anything about this." I looked down, because I really needed a hug now and he knew it. "I was stabbed a few weeks ago." I whispered. "That's my girl." He said with a smile. "It almost killed me." I added and he chuckled. "Badass." Occasions like these were the ones that I hated him for being blonde. "It left a scar." He stopped hugging me and lifted my shirt. "Why? We're not supposed to get scars." I sighed once again and just held his stare. "The blade had cataplasm. That's why I almost died." Jace stared up at me, like he did not know me. "It was just a graze then, right? Not stab, otherwise you'd be dead by now, right?" I closed my eyes once again.

"Charlotte?" I shook my head. "Why telling me this now?" He questioned me and I did not know what would be the right thing to say. "I promised you that I'd tell you everything and I just couldn't go back and keep you in the dark about this." In that moment, a portal opened and Alec and Magnus walked in. "I told you he was fine." Magnus said and stopped talking when he saw me and greeted me. "Why are you on your knees?" Alec questioned. "She got stabbed with cataplasm." He added and Alec looked at me. He took the same position as Jace and both lifted my shirt. They were too busy examining my scar, so I talked to Magnus. "You look alive to me." He said and earned both glares from the guys. "I know and yet, they are worried." I tried to lighten the mood. "Okay, guys. I'm fine. I just wanted to explain to Jace what had happened and just like he said previously, I should be on my way to London. So, goodbye."

I put my shirt down, kissed their cheeks and walked to the door. "Ready to go?" Catherine asked me and I just nodded. "They are still freaking out, so we better hurry up. Anyway, let's portal ourselves home." She nodded and a few seconds later, we were in our room. "I don't know about you, but I'm knackered." Catherine said and I just hummed. I fell asleep soon after that.
