CATHERINE'S POV

Charlie looked defeated. Like she had not been able to complete her main and only mission. Charlotte sat down next to me and I moved my seat. She needed some time alone to process all this, but at the same time, I was afraid of whatever she might do. So, I stayed there, hoping for the best. She started opening the files and read the transcripts before watching the interviews. As I looked up the screen, I saw his face. For a second, I had forgotten about his handsome face. I had had the biggest crush on him when I got to the institute. I smiled a little bit and just let my mind wander to our last conversation related to Charlie and how amazing would be to meet her. Sebastian and I had a whole plan for that. When he ended his year off, I would have to go there and he would have introduced me to his brave and kick-ass cousin and then we would have traveled back together as mundanes, stopping whenever we wanted.

Our plans were taken down when Jonathan got into the picture. "Shit. It's time for us to go." I said and she just saved all the information we had on some drive and we walked to the meeting room, where everyone was waiting for instructions. We had surveillance for the rest of the week, so we went out the institute and do our job. The training had gotten harder and I just kept pushing Charlotte further and farther, just to show her how amazing she could be and deep down she was okay with me pushing her. She knew that she needed that little push. I liked the feeling she got whenever she was about to beat me, but it was in those times, when I put out some other move and she just kept fighting me back. The week wandered off and we enjoyed the concert of Rihanna in Australia. That woman knew how to make a show. Charlotte looked proud of my reactions and once again I wondered if my parabatai would be as amazing as Charlie.

Maybe my parabatai could be even greater than her and it will be awesome. I could not wait to find it. When we got off the concert, we portaled ourselves to London and walked around as we waited for our adrenaline to come down. "Besides, Sebastian, do you have any other relative?" I asked, knowing that family was a touchy subject, but I wanted to know a bit more of her. Jace had asked me to dig a bit more about that, for her sake. "I'm not very sure. My parents died when I was fifteen and all I knew about family died with them. Sebastian step into the picture and we talked every day. But besides that, I don't know. I mean, Leon and Aline are part of that family too, but not directly, I barely know them to consider them as family." She shrugged and I opened my mouth. "Wait. Hold on. You're related to the Penhallows? Like THE Penhallows?" I looked at her amused by her previous answer.

"I mean, yeah, but not really. In like third or fourth degree or something." She laughed at my reaction, which made the topic flow easily. "After Sebastian, Aline went to New York and then Jia, but we handled them and explained the whole situation, but beside that, there's no other connection." I nodded and just let her talk about that. I liked the way Charlie talked and how she made it look easier to do it. I could be extrovert around her to do crazy things and fight like my life depended on it, but whenever the topic involved my parents, I always closed off, because I did not remember anything about them. "I mean, we're somehow related, but we're not family. Jace, Alec and Izzy are more than enough as siblings." We both laughed at that, because she had told me that they could be a handful sometimes. Especially Jace. She liked to think that he treated her like the Lightwoods treated him when they adopted him.

By now, we were calm enough to go back to the institute, so we walked there, hoping that no one questioned our cover story too much. We go out every day for the Stark Embassy thing, but nothing of that included go to concerts and deep down, I was okay with the punishment though. Besides, I would be gone soon, so I really did not care.
