CATHERINE'S POV

As soon as Charlie was gone, Jace started giving instructions to everyone and lastly, he looked at us. "You three, to my office. NOW." Simon, Izzy and I just nodded and walked there. First, he talked with Simon and Izzy, both explained what had happened and then they were dismissed. I was next and Jace activated his calming rune before talking to me, because he knew how sensitive I was and he really did not want to deal with my feelings and emotions right now. "Tell me please you're not behind all that happened." He looked drained and I wondered how long have been Lady Clave in the institute for him to be like that. "Loki was possessed by an outer-Earth character. All the power was managed from the scepter, which we used it to close the portal." Jace nodded a bit more relaxed and I remembered about Charlie's command. "She told me to record everything for you." I said as I looked for the glasses. I took them out from the case and hook it to his laptop.

"You really did all this?" Clary's question made me giggle. "We were in lockdown and then she just got here, asking for both of you." I looked down because I could feel how scared Jace was for Charlotte and weirdly enough, Clary did not care as much. "We're going to get her back and everything will be fine." I said and Jace just looked at me, completely lost. Like he could not think in a way to help her. "We need proof that she was not on Loki's side." Clary said and I kept thinking on Tony. "We could talk to the mundanes we helped and ask them to testify in her favor." Jace sent a fire message and a minute later, Alec and Magnus walked through it. "Who dared to touch my kid?" Magnus said and Jace handed them the accusations and Magnus laughed at it. "She's kidding, right? Like Charlie could plot an evil attack to the mundanes." I smiled at those words, because Charlie loved humans too much to attack them.

"What are we doing?" Alec questioned and Jace closed the folder. "Can mundanes testify on our trials?" His question made Magnus hum. "They are not supposed to know about us, so I'd say no. Why?" Jace looked at me as I looked at the clock. We had been discussing this whole mess for hours now. "But Tony has business with us." I added when everyone was about to give up. "Go to him and tell him everything, if you can get more witnesses, great. We have about fifteen hours before the trial. So, don't waste time." We nodded and I walked out of the office, as I texted Tony. He had taken the day off as the rest of the team. So, I portaled to his home. "Charlie is being accused of being part on the attack." I told him as soon as I got there, just to find that Nat and Clint were there. "Oh, I'm sorry." I tried to calm my heart. "What did you just say?" Tony asked and I proceeded to tell the story from the beginning, avoiding the part of why they wanted to punish Charlie.

"As Tony knows about our world for the weapons, my boss is asking if you can testify in favor of Charlie." Tony was surprised that I even asked that. "Of course, and I'm taking Clint too as he was possessed." I looked at Clint who nodded. "And I'm going because I'm smart and I know you're different. We can even call Steve. He might not know what you are, but yeah." I nodded and I felt like I could breathe a bit more. "I'll go inform all this and I'll text you later." I opened a portal and went back to the institute. Jace looked at me hopeful when I told the whole story of Tony and the rest. "Magnus is preparing all the defense, so we have to be at ease. We're bringing her home." I nodded and got excused to go and rest. I was drained and everything hurt, although I knew it was related to Charlie, because I was not hurt in the battle of New York, but I did not understand why she was feeling this hurt, she had not been hurt in the battle either. What was going on?

The following morning, I texted Tony that I would be there in bit. Then, I took them to the institute, where Jace, Alec and Magnus were waiting for us. I could not portal them to Alicante as I was not supposed to have that kind of power, so I let Magnus do it. As soon as we got there, I felt Charlie's fears and I wanted to her as soon as possible.
