CATHERINE'S POV

By the time we woke up, we went straight to the tech room, we had to pay attention to the statistics and the response among the mundanes related to the app. Everyone was happy and the shift became even funnier now. We had realized that we could have fun looking at the mundanes, especially at younger mundanes as they were really stupid. After that, we started our day just like any other, breakfast, training, lunch, tech workshop, surveillance, sneak out, sleep and then, repeat it again. Whenever we sneak out, we used our app to promote Stark's industries and for what Tony had told us, his popularity had increased in a twelve percent in a week, so he started putting a lot of money into our accounts, even when we had said no. By the middle of October, Evelyn called us to her office. We went there thinking it was related to our recent trips to the New York institute, so we had created a set of lies to cover our last moves.

"How are you enjoying your moment of fame?" Her question surprised us and we tried to cover it up quickly. "The attention has been surprising, but we knew something like that could happen if Stark was involved. He offered us to promote his industry in London, which bring us to spend more time among mundanes." Her face showed a smile, like she knew this already. "But I don't think you called us here to talk about that." Charlie said and Evelyn smiled proudly. "As the matter of fact, I have a new mission for you." We both looked at each other and then back at Evelyn. "Halloween is coming and for the first time ever, we are going to throw a party with mundanes and you both are going to organize it. If you're up to the challenge." I was lost in Evelyn's stare. The London's institute had been closed for so many years and the residents were almost forbidden to mingle with mundanes.

Now, there were a lot of things happening. "If you decide to do it, you'll have the financial support of the institute and remember, nothing is too much." What had happened in our absence that she was so open to people? Not that it bothered me, that meant more allies and more connection for missions. "That would be all." She said and we walked to our room. "I'm assuming you want to do it." I asked Charlie when we were inside. "Hell, yeah. I need a party and people beside all of you. No offense." I giggled. "Non taken." Charlotte fell on her bed and just started talking about what we needed to do for a party like that and we would use our new app to promote it. This would be London's first world-wide event and now I understood why Evelyn had decided to do it. We were candidates for the next worldwide meeting of the Shadow World and we needed to test the waters first.

"Cath, hello? Everything's okay?" Charlie asked me and I snapped out of my thoughts. "Sorry, I just drifted off. You were saying?" She let her things beside her and sat next to me. "Okay, what's going on?" She questioned again intrigued of my lack of concentration and I knew I would not be able to lie to her. "I'm just thinking that in five months I'll be eighteen and in eight months I will have to leave home for a year." Charlie sighed and stayed quiet. Almost like she understood my fear and maybe she did, but I knew she did not, because she had a family and I was on my own within the Shadow World. "I mean, I already know where I want to go, but what if in those eight months I change my mind?" Charlie held my hand. "Well, if that happens, you go wherever you want to go. There's nothing written in stone yet, so, don't worry about it. You'll be fine in whatever place you decide to go."

Cath was overthinking and I just put my hand over hers. "Your experience will be a lot better than mine as no one will try to murder you and even if they try, you call me and I will kick their asses for being stupid." She started laughing and I followed her. I just did not know how she could laugh about it. "Ready to train?" She asked me and we both got ready to start our day.
