CATHERINE'S POV

It was a dark night of October, when the alarm of the institute let us know that something was happening. The few people that were not on surveillance, got to the meeting room. "A military base found something irregular and to avoid any threats, we're going to investigate." Jace said and we all paid attention. "Who's mission-free?" Jace asked again and I raised my hand. "Great, you two are leaving in five, wear something warm." I looked around and found Charlie as confused as me. We went to put some more clothes on and went to Jace's office. "I was hoping you two were free for this." Jace added as he closed his door and we looked at him confused. "What's going on?" Charlie asked as she sat on a chair. "S.H.I.E.L.D. dispatched some agents to the Arctic." I got excited as it could be something literally new. "Act carefully and don't take the invisibility rune unless it's EXTREMELY needed." We both nodded and just opened a portal to the Arctic.

When we got there, it was pretty much dark and we had to use our night vision to see. We followed the voices and there was an old ship wrecked in the ice. As Charlie paid attention to what they said in Russian, I took my surroundings in. We waited a few minutes as they took the ship out to somewhere firm. Once it was secured, we got in and looked around. "Hey, isn't that...?" I was stopped when Charlotte walked to me and completed my sentence. "His shield." We kept looking around and there was a body. "They found Captain America's body." Charlie told to my mind and we did not know exactly how to react to that. "Hold on." Charlie said as she activated her super hearing rune. "He's got a slow beating." Charlie started hyper-venting. "He's alive." I could not believe what she was saying. He had been seventy years on ice and he was still alive. How? "It must have created a cryo with whatever that bomb had." She added and I was surprised for that.

They immediately took the body to some jet and immediately to some military hospital. There was nothing we could really do, so we got back to New York to report what we had just seen. "A frozen body? And he was alive after 70 years?" Jace questioned us and we just answered as best as we could. By the following morning, the body was already in New York and we went there once again. Using our invisibility rune, we stayed by his side day and night. Nick Fury had replicated some of the items of the years when Captain had been alive, but he left so many details in plain sight, but when I heard his explanation, I believed in his strategy. Two days later, Steve Rogers woke up and he freaked out, big time. No one could or even dared to stop him. Nick Fury let him get away as Charlie and I ran behind him. "Hey, calm down." He looked back as we got in an alley. "You're not dressed as them." He spoke and for a second, he really looked at us.

"Yeah, we don't really know what were they trying to accomplish there, but you're okay, you're safe." Charlie soothed him and he seemed to understand that we were not 'after' him. "What's happening? What kind of experiment is this?" He was lost and I did not know how to explain that it was not an experiment anymore. "Mr. Rogers, I'm afraid to tell you that this is not an experiment. This is real life." Charlotte kept trying to make him realize on his own the situation, but it seemed like he would never imagine his new life. "It's 2011 and we're Catherine and Charlotte." Steve looked between both of us as he still did not get it. Charlie activated the hearing rune and people were coming. "People are coming, we really need to go now. It's okay. We'll come for you, Mr. Rogers. Trust nobody, but us." As he nodded, Steve heard that the soldiers were coming up, so we activated our invisibility as he kept running until he got to Times Square.

He was struck by all the lights and I get him. Everything had really changed. There Nick Fury was waiting for him. "At ease, soldier." I felt how confused he was. "I had a date." His words made me feel sorry for him. We followed them, just to watch them handle Steve Rogers and hopefully, they would give him the mental treatment he needed after war and being frozen for years.
