"Why did Arthur want us to meet him here?" Damon asked me, it's been about two days since he was healthy, and let's say, Damon and Arthur's meeting wasn't exactly normal, there was obviously a sense of awkwardness between the two.

"I'm assuming Gideon figured something out." I told him, knowing that was most likely the only reason we were told to meet him here. I had my assumptions on why, but I was waiting to say them until I knew for sure.

"I knew that, but why was it Arthur telling us that?" I shrugged as we arrived in front of Gideon's office within the Earthborn institute, Arthur was inside with Gideon and Emily. "The attack is going down soon, so any weapon he may have made shouldn't be used, it'll be too soon."

"Yeah." I said. "But then again, we won't be using them, and now that we know how we are handling the attack, it doesn't really matter." He nodded as we opened the door into the room that was messy, insanely messy, but the three of them were around a table.

"Here the brats are." Gideon said as the three of them turned to us. "You took your darn old time."

"Shut up old man." I told him, the sense of if I was joking no were in sight. "Why did you call us here?" I asked, Gideon didn't say anything, he looked at my brother, I stepped up beside Emily, giving her a smile that she returned back to me. Damon stood on my other side with Arthur by him.

Arthur gave me a look, the two of us have been going at it a little bit, but it was nothing more than brotherly love at the moment. "Gideon solved the issue with the bestowal staff, he knows why it wasn't working before."

My eyes widening, knowing very well that this could change so much, with this, non-mages, and mages, could gain more powers, making our army stronger, their army stronger. "Really?" I asked, looking from Arthur, back to Gideon, his eyes widening a little from my gaze.

"I don't know why, but your red eyes always seem like you are staring into my soul." Gideon said out loud, looking me in the eyes, which for some reason irritated me, but I knew better not to bring it up with Arthur around.

"Because I am." I told him, smirking slightly, changing the atmosphere a little, causing the old man to smirk back at me.

"Brat." He said, then picked up the staff that was laying on the table before us with other items around it. "Yes, with Arthur's help, and his knowledge of aether, I've figured out how to pass along runes to the people of Dicathen, and with his help, I think I can make more."

"You think you can make more?" I asked, not really caring that he figured it all out, I knew he would at some point. "That would be a game changer." He nodded his head, then picked up a cloak. "With this tunic, and staff, and control over elements, we can pass on runes to people, even if they aren't mages." A tunic? Is that another word for cloak, I assume it is.

"I want to see how it is done." I told him, wanting to know how it actually worked, and if I could take a staff when it's done and use it. I turned to Emily, then back to Gideon, then added. "Unless you aren't exactly ready to use it on someone yet."

"I would like to do a little more test." Gideon told me. "We still don't know what happens when you activate it and pass a rune to someone, there could be a failsafe amongst it." I nodded, thinking about it, I could see Agrona doing that.

"What we gather from the staff is that Agrona was using it to control and limit the powers of the people." Emily spoke out, looking at the staff. "With it, he was able to give the people he thought deserved it, and most likely the ones he trusted, more power than the others."

"You are right." Arthur told her. "That makes sense, he doesn't want anyone to overthrow or act out of line, so he rewards them with magic." We all nodded thinking about the staff. "Keep this to yourselves, I don't trust everyone in the council, with this, they could cause a riot amongst the people."
