My First Son?

I was sitting in the palace with a bunch of council members, the attack on Vildorial will be happening soon, and the people were preparing. Arthur knew, everyone knew that it was inevitable, Agrona wouldn't just allow us to retake the continent without putting up a fight.

I had been with Aya pretty much every day, same with Hades, he is still surrounded around her spine, making sure it stayed aligned, building up its strength. I didn't really need him right now anyways, well, I needed him because he had the phoenix blood still.

"We need to elect a new Commander soon." Helen said, looking around the table, the dwarves, the many dwarves now within the council all had hopes of being the Commander, but they know very well that will never happen. "With the city getting back on its feet, and our defenses being built for an attack, it's time for a Commander to be chosen."

"I completely agree." The great dwarf Fundin said, I don't know his house or anything about him except that he thinks he is the most noble person in the room and wants to be the king of Darv. "The Commander role is a great honor, and replacing the prior one will be almost impossible, but it is time."

"Yes." King Glayder said, looking at the dwarf, I was beside a dwarf I didn't know and Jasmine, supposedly Arthur wanted her next to me, I have no clue why. "It's time to replace ----" He was cut off as I released my aura for a split second, catching everyone's attention.

"The next Commander will be Arthur, there is no discussion needed." I looked at the King, then looked around, waiting for someone to disagree, but they didn't. "He was right beside Elder Virion during the war, he knows what he has to do."

"If he is like Commander Virion, maybe he shouldn't be the Commander." A dwarf said, his eyes looking from Arthur to me, then back to Arthur. "I don't mean that in a bad way or anything, Commander Virion was a great elf, but he did lose the war."

"Do you want to live another day?" I asked the dwarf, his eyes widening at my words, Jasmine grabbed my hand, and gave me a look that told me to stay calm. "Do you?" I asked him again, and the color of his face faded.

"He's right." Arthur said, looking at me. "It isn't something we can just decide, we should discuss it, and then vote. I don't want to be the Commander if people don't want me to be one." Arthur was beside Tessia and Bairon.

I stood up, lifting up my hands. "That's fine with me, but I vote for Arthur, a discussion won't change my mind." I told everybody, turning towards the exit. "I'm bored, I can't sit here any longer, I'll see you all tomorrow."

"Lance Virion, you should stay." King Glayder said, he didn't speak like an order, it had a nice tone to it. "Your thoughts are important to everyone, and as a Lance, you should be here where the Kings and Queens are."

"I'm good." I told the King, not listening to anything he said. "My thoughts are that Arthur is the best choice, that's it, and being in this room just makes me want to kill you all, so I'm leaving." The atmosphere got a little dark as I left, I shot Arthur and Ellie a head nod, and appeared in the hall.

I'm sure Arthur will talk to me later about that comment, but I don't care, it's so boring in there, and whoever takes the lead as Commander, won't be commanding me in most cases. I started walking toward the exit of the palace, passing guards and maids, all of which were dwarves, well, there were some human and elf soldiers, the ones guarding the King and Queen from both races.

I wouldn't even consider them Kings and Queens anymore, but I guess when we retake the continent, they will reclaim their roles. 'Damon is waiting for you.' I heard a thought from Hades travel over to me.

'I'll be there in a couple of minutes.' I told my bond who probably felt Damon move from another room, Aya was right beside him, so it made sense. So, my child, or whatever, has woken up, this isn't going to be weird in the slightest.
