Chapter 231 mid season

I watch from the console as Dar'ke and Hopper take my babies down to the base. The latest report that came in, was that 95% of the humans in the base had been hunted. I just hope my nagging feelings were just hormones.

"Chris they will be fine...listen the only thing the pups will have to worry about is if Hopper find out that they have Snacks. Other then that they will be fine..." Ceillia says to me while putting a hand on my shoulder. I put my hand over her's and nod.

OldOne calls to us as Kiki is making the menu for the meal when they get back. I sigh and follow them, the nagging feeling was not leaving my guts...

We were finishing up the last few kills, according to our scans we only had a group of 10 Oomans in the lowest depths of the base. The weird energy has stopped it was odd. As it was similar energy used in our self destruction crystals.

Dar'ke let me know that he and Hopper were on their way. I opened a communication with him. "Dar'ke we are going down to the last lab. There is some weird energy coming from there. I sent the Data to the main ship." I said to him.

"Dee wait. Hold the teams back until we arrive. I will send the Data to Crash and Singh. If it is odd energy patterns keep out for the moment" he says to me firmly.

"Understood. We will pull back and start taking care of trophies and getting rid of our presents here." I replied back.

Dar'ke growled in approval and ended the transmission. I heard the chitters of Jay'Ve and Sha'On in the background. Before he ended it. They were gonna be a handful, but this will be a good experience for them.

I let the others know and meet up with Fa'tae and Lu'Nye. They each have a number of trophies hanging from their belts. Everyone on our teams was alive an they did well for this mission. Thanks to the lessons from Ooman training class.

"Lu'Nye do you mind watching our younger brothers when they arrive with Dar'ke and Hopper?" I ask him.

Lu'Nye let's out a sigh "Do I have to?" He asks as he clicks his mandibles a bit annoyed.

"Lu'Nye you have more experience with older pups then we do. They also listen to you like they listen to Chris. It would help to keep them safe." I said to him wondering if I should gut punch him or not for questioning orders...

Fa'tae did it for me, punching Lu'Nye so hard he went to his knees. He hisses out "Fine, I will do it!" He said thru his teeth.

"Lu'Nye you know better then to question orders when on mission!" Fa'tae scolds him. "Do you want me to tell Chris?" He asked Lu'Nye.

Lu'Nye shook his head no as he stood up. Unlike before when he would have an attitude, he was more productive...

"I will head up and meet them at the main entrance. Did you need me to do anything else?" Lu'Nye asks me.

"That should be all, just keep an ear out Crash an Singh will be reporting on the information I sent out from this base. Something seems odd..." I say to him.

Lu'Nye nodded and left myself and Fa'tae to chat as we waited. "Dee when you are leader you can't let chit like that slide! Lu'Nye can be an asshole ...he is still learning!" Fa'tae scolds me like a bearer.

I chitter at him. "Fa'tae he will learn like we did. Also after the Ooman missions are done we still have to fulfill our duty to Chris. We still haven't done our punishment from last year yet..." I reminded Fa'tae.

"There are a few hives that I have been looking at but with the way the council been...I haven't been able to partition them. I know Chris has forgiven us but still, I want it on record that we did our duty to regain our honor with her." Fa'tae says to me.
