It's been a few months since we won against Vecna, and even though none of us have really got over it, we've all carried on with our lives, trying to act like nothing happened. For people like Steve and Nancy, they don't seem bothered by it. Maybe because they've been through stuff like it before, but my boyfriend Eddie isn't coping well. Especially tonight.

Eddie breathes heavily, his knee bounces from where he sits on a guitar amp, panicking from the sounds of the screams in the venue.

"Corroded Coffin, get out there and do the damn show!" The manager of this dingy place says angrily. I nod and hold up two fingers implying they'll be two minutes.

The rest of the band watches Eddie uneasily, they don't know the truth about what happened with us, but they presumed some tragic shit went down.

"I- I don't know if I can" Eddie softly says to me as I crouch in front of him, holding one of his hands in mine. Shit, they really need this, think Y/N think!

"I can fill in for you," I say quickly, not even thinking the idea through before blurting it out. Eddie looks up at me as the rest of the band stares, "You've got play your guitar, I have no idea how to, but I can sing, kind of."

Gareth chimes in, "You're our last resort, come on." The band leaps onto the stage, Eddie and I follow with less excitement.

The crowd screams as I take the microphone, breathing deep as I quickly turn to the band. "Play Crimson and Clover!" I whisper shout, Gareth and Jeff look at me as if I'm mad, but Eddie gives me a small smile and plays the first note.

I close my eyes and sing really hoping this works. The band follows my lead, going a little heavier than Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, thankfully the audience enjoys it. They all sing along, cheering as we get to the faster part of the song.

Eddie must feel more confident and less panicked now, because he walks across the stage to me, smiling as I sing to him. We stand back back, having a great time, I even catch the band grinning.

Too soon, the song is over. Eddie lets go of his guitar, allowing the strap to hold all of the weight as he grabs my chin with one hand and kisses me.

Whoops and whistles come from the crowd, and I pull away smiling. "You okay now?" I ask, Eddie nods and I put the mic back, walking offstage as Corroded Coffin continue their set list.

Almost an hour later, the band jumps backstage to where I'm sat, full of the aftershow buzz. Eddie grins from ear to ear showing his dimples, he grabs me and picks me up, spinning me around and pressing a kiss to my cheek.

"You should join the band." Eddie says as the others walk over to us.

Gareth nods wrapping an arm around Eddie's shoulder, "Yeah, we could use some extra sex appeal!"

Eddie gives him a look of warning, so Gareth removes his arm and holds hus hands up.

"I mean, if you're all okay with it? I never thought I'd be able to do that, but wow!"

The band mumbles to each other then Eddie turns around, "Welcome to the band sweetheart."

Even after everything, Eddie still finds a way to persevere and find happiness.
