AN: This is just my personal take and experience of preventing a meltdown, it's been a rough day so this imagine is kind of for me, but I hope you all enjoy it too♡

----------------------------------------------------------

The classroom is too loud. It's way too hot in here and considering it's supposed to be study time, nobody seems to have their head down. The teacher is nowhere to be seen which is terrible because I have questions, and I can feel myself getting more and more stressed and closer to a meltdown.

My breath comes quick as I begin to pick at my sleeve, my eyes dart around the room and I flinch at a sudden loud noise, I turn to see the jocks sitting together behind me, laughing and pushing each other playfully. Anger mixed with fear courses through me, I want to turn and shout but at the same time I also want to get up and run far away.

"Come on," Eddie suddenly says when I turn forward, he's crouched down watching me with concern, his hand outstretched for me go take. I place my hand in his and quickly pack up my things, throwing them into my bag randomly before Eddie leads me out of the class and into the much quieter corridor. I'm still on edge, so Eddie leads me to a storage closet where the school stores some props for drama. Eddie and I often hang out in here when things get too much for me.

The dim room provides immediate comfort, and I find a spot on the floor in the corner, so I'm hidden away and protected by a 2D tree.

Eddie sits opposite me, unzipping my bag and grabbing my Walkman as I gently rock back and fourth. He carefully puts the headphones over my ears and presses play. My favourite song plays and I close my eyes, trying to calm down and sing the lyrics in my head.

I feel Eddie's hands gently pull mine towards him, his rings provide a safe and comfortable source for me to try and ground myself, to keep calm and to focus on staying present. His thumbs brush the tops of my hands, soothing me as I breathe in and out.

I don't know how much time passes, but I eventually feel calm enough to open my eyes and take off the headphones. Eddie gives me a small reassuring smile and asks "You feeling okay? Need anything else?"

A wave of tiredness washes through me, so I shake my head and give him a thumbs up. Eddie watches me for a minute longer then stands up, "Let's go home, we've only got an hour left anyway."

I'm about to argue, but I find myself feeling too emotionally drained, so I stand up and follow him to the door. Eddie peeks out and checks for teachers, before giving me a subtle nod and beckoning me to follow. We walk down the empty hallway, past the classes filled with students eager to start their weekend.

"Thank you for understanding me." I quietly mumble, looking up at Eddie as he wraps an arm around my shoulders and pulls me towards him.

"I'll always be here when you need me Y/N." He murmurs, opening the door for me as we head to my home.
