As Cham and Hera were arguing, Imperial fighters and a shuttle of reinforcements were approaching the Carrier to retake it like the Captain had said earlier! Back on the Carrier, Ezra gripped his Family Locket, as memories of Hera's reasons for her fractured relationship with Cham as well their fight in Hera's Cabin from earlier that Ezra overheard flashed before his eyes...
Ezra: Hey, so... What's going on between you and your father?
Hera: We haven't spoken in years! He was a hero in the Clone War, fought with the Jedi to free Ryloth from the droid army... But after the war, the Republic became the Empire and refused to leave, so he started fighting them! Once my mother was killed in the Resistance, Ryloth's freedom became the most important thing to him...
Ezra: More important than family?
Cham: It's almost time... We should head out soon!
Ezra: Well, there's nothing more important to me...
Cham: Isn't that the old Astromech that you found during the Clone War?
Hera: His name is Chopper!
Chopper: (Chopper Beeping in Affirmation!)
Cham: (Sighs) If you gave me half the attention that you gave this second-rate junk pile, we'd have liberated Ryloth by now!
Chopper: (Chopper Grunting in Protest!)
Cham: This is what's wrong with you, child! You hold on to the wrong things, devote your time and effort to lost causes! What a waste...
Hera: I am not wasting my life... I help people! I lead ships into battle! I am part of something bigger!
Cham: The Rebellion! I thought you knew better than to put your faith in outsiders... You forget what happened when we trusted the Republic!
Hera: This is different... The rebels are fighting to free everyone!
Cham: Free everyone? I don't care about everyone! I care only about Ryloth!
Hera: So I've noticed...
Knowing that they didn't have time for this, Ezra could remain quiet no longer... But before Omega could defend her childhood friend, Ezra lost it completely and spoke up for her!
Ezra: CHAM SYNDULLA! JUST LISTEN TO YOUR OWN DAUGHTER, WHO HAPPENS TO BE PROBABLY YOUR ONLY CHILD AND THE ONLY FAMILY MEMBER THAT YOU HAVE LEFT IN YOUR LIFE FOR ONCE!!!
Everyone winced at Ezra's upset voice, as Omega, Kanan, and even Hera knew that Cham overdid it!
Omega: Uh-oh... Angry Protective Ezra at 12:00 Clock!
Kanan: Yeah... That's never good!
Hera: (Sighs) Now you've gone and done it!
Ezra: Look... (Sighs) I want my own freedom from the Empire as badly as anyone else, but as I told Kaitis back on my own Home Planet when me, him, and even Eldra were still little, the battle can't be won on Lothal alone! During the Clone War, the two of them didn't just fight with you for a village, they rallied everyone to liberate the entire planet... They inspired me! The Rebellion was no different... But either he couldn't see that or he didn't believe in me like Eldra did to open up about Order 66 and remained a closed book, and well... Your Daughter as well as the rest of my Crew all know how well that ended! And that's why I left Lothal on the day we met in the first place, Kanan...
Kanan and Hera's eyes both softened, as Ezra poured his heart to explain how much he looks up to both of them now!
Ezra: (Laughs Bitterly) Your own Daughter came back for me along with Sabine, Kanan, and even Chopper when I was captured by the Empire when she barely even knew me... She saved me from giving up on the Jedi I dreamed of becoming when I was little like Anakin was in the Clone War, and... She even got me talking to my own adoptive Sister again! To be honest, I would rather be more like your Daughter and the others than the Empire any day!
