Kevin's still got a hold of the Word, but his eyes are huge and he's in a panic, "so, these Leviathans – these monsters are real. And Angels with wings?"

"No, uh...no wings," Sam says, "no anything."

"No junk," Dean adds and I roll my eyes, "junkless. So, Kevin, you can, uh, read the chicken scratch on the God Rock, huh?" He eyes the scared kid, "that is uh back in one piece I see. And you're saying that there's some sort of 'How to punch Dick' recipe in there somewhere?"

"I don't...I don't know what you're talking about," he stammers, "but it seems kind of like an 'in case of emergency.' What did they mean by a 'prophet?'"

"Oh no," Dean looks to his brother, "really?

"Yeah," he nods, "that's what the Angel said."

Kevin's slowly rocking back and forth on the bed muttering about not wanting this for himself; hell, if I were in his shoes, I wouldn't want that either but it's the hand he's been dealt.

"No, you don't at all," Dean agrees.

"Guys," Meg butts in, "we've got to start running and hiding. Or do you want to tangle with those wing nuts twice?" Dean turns to her and says, "I'm sorry did you say 'we?'"

"I'm on the angel's radar now," she snaps, "you think I don't need a little safety in numbers?"

"Let's tone it down," I grunt, "we'll go to Rufus's cabin; let Kevin dissect the God rock there, sound good?"

Our awkward group decides that that's our best shot at being safe and away from angels well for a while at least; we're going to have to ward the cabin from both Demon's and Angels until we can get things sorted out. We get situated in a car, Kevin sits behind Sam in the passenger seat, Meg sits behind Dean and I sit between Prophet and Demon; Meg doesn't really bother me after all she saved me a long while back plus she looked after Castiel without a second thought. Dean drives through the night, Kevin sleeps with his head against the window, and the bag with the Word clutched tightly against his chest afraid of the possibility that someone will take it from him. The next morning we stop for gas, Sam and Meg go inside while Kevin stays in the car as Dean pumps the gas; I stand leaning against him his lips press against my hair.

"A lot has happened within the last few days," he whispers, "I wish we could just slow down."

"I agree, but we've handled worse," the numbers tick on the pump, "how are you Dean?"

I feel him shift against me, but he doesn't move away however Sam finally comes back out a tray of coffee cups in hand, "Hey," he hands them over, "so, we got another wrinkle. Uh, looks like Kevin's gone missing...and it's gone federal."

"Great," I mutter, "just what we need, where's Meg?"

"I'm here," she pops up on the other side of Sam, "so we're kidnappers now?" Dean asks putting the handle of the pump back in its place.

"Not if we shut up about it," she whispers, "why? Who'd we kidnap?"

As we get back into the car I gesture with my chin to a pale looking Kevin, she rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything else; we've still got about another day left to get back to the cabin which I can handle I think but after Kevin falls asleep and wakes back up again, he jumps.

"What?" I ask and he shakes his head, "nothing, nothing...just...my life...my future," Meg's phone starts to ring as he continues, "my girlfriend...my mom's car."

I turn my attention to her as she relays that it's Castiel; when Dean pesters her about his location, she tells him to shut up and speaks with the Angel again. Turns out Dean blasted him clear out to a dog race somewhere in Australia, he's upset about the treatment of them and the fact that the rabbit they're chasing after is completely fake. When she gives him our location on the highway he appears sitting sideways on my lap and I let out a yelp causing Dean to slam on the breaks then seeing the situation he sighs heavily before starting down the road again. Kevin had made a sound too since the Angel is facing him and I introduce them to ease the tension in the car.
