Sam's kept me updated via text, I've gotten like two from Dean on the case. They aren't really sure what it is that's killing these people cause now there are more bodies that seemed to have died the same way as our hot-dog eating friend. I've got books and papers splayed out on one table of the library while I have soft rock music playing through the bunker on a Bluetooth speaker I'd bought a while ago. I'd gone to get a drink then come back to find several papers had fallen onto the floor, I know I didn't leave them there nor is there any draft strong enough in the bunker to knock them down. Picking them up I look around cautiously wondering who or what is here; I know for a fact that no one really knows where this place is let alone track us here.

"Keep it together," I whisper and as soon as those words come from mouth a puff of air comes out of my mouth as if there's a chill in the air and I stand straight up back rigid as a board, "alright, you son of a bitch show yourself!"

As soon as those words leave my mouth more papers fall off the table and scatter onto the hardwood, this time I leave them lay all my nerves on high alert now. Something is here, haunting the bunker and then my mind catches up with the situation, "Kevin?" I ask out into the empty room, "Kevin Tran?" there's a long pause then my radio spits and sputters then starts back up again, "holy shit."

He's trying to communicate with me however he doesn't seem quite strong enough to come out of wherever he is to physically speak with me, so I tell him to somehow move objects or send a message in some shape or form on whatever it is that's ailing him if he's stuck here. I wait watching the table with the papers, then hear the click-click of buttons being pushed on the laptop which is open to a blank document; Stuck – trapped – my mom – alive; those are the only words he can get before tiring himself out my eyes rake over the words. I feel bad that the poor boy is stuck but if his mother really is alive, maybe I can bring her back, alive, from wherever she is.

"Kevin, look man, I know you're exhausted," I murmur, "believe me I've been where you are now at least a little bit but if you know a place or anything in relation to where she can be, I'll leave right now and save her if she's in trouble."

What comes back to me is silence for a long while, then papers rustle once more and one of the maps falls to the floor, followed by a pencil that magically drops onto a specific place barely leaving a mark; I go over and pick it up to examine the spot. The mark is just a few steps to the right of Wichita, Kansas; circling it large enough for myself to see I tuck the object in the back of my jeans and start to gather everything I need to find Mrs. Tran. I look around the room wondering if I should call Sam or Dean and leave a message then decide better of it knowing they're still on a case of their own.

"Kevin look, I'm going after your mom. If Sam and Dean come back before I do get them to come after me, I'll need their help if I'm not back by then."

A short tapping sound comes from the table and I know he heard me then the room goes quiet; I grab a set of keys for a borrowed car Sam had brought back to the bunker and make my way into the garage to head out. Knowing the kid is trapped in the veil makes my heart hurt, it's my fault he's dead and now he has no way of getting out to a better place which I feel responsible for. I drive through the afternoon and arrive in Wichita a few hours after the sun has set since it was only a few hours' drive from the bunker; with my fake FBI badge and a picture of Mrs. Tran I stop at the nearest diner and start asking questions of the locals. Some of them shake their heads at me or refuse to answer afraid of the law probably; however there's a small guy down the diner bar from me who gestures at the picture then jerks his chin at me to come over.

"She looks familiar," he murmurs, "is she missing?"

"Yeah," I say, "missing for quite some time now, if you've seen her or have any information it would be helpful."
