QOTP: What's your favorite sad movie?

Word Count: 425

James - The Book Thief (Spoilers!)

"Why would you make me watch that?!" James shouts through tears.

You grab his sleeve and wipe your eyes. "At least you didn't get attached to Tommy; he wasn't even in the movie!"

"But Rudy!" James complains, blubbering.

You grab a tissue and blow your nose. "Don't remind me!"

"At least Max lived," he says, hugging you.

You nod into his chest, sniffling. "But Rudy..."

"I know."

"And Hans."

James lets out a sob. His voice cracks. "I know."

Peter - The Lion King

Peter doesn't cry. You sob.

You should've known immediately what would happen in the future. But you're too busy crying. And you'll be crying later, too...

Remus - Les Misérables (Spoilers!)

You're a wreck.

"Valjean didn't deserve that," you say.

Remus nods, rubbing your back. "I know."

"I mean, all he did was steal a loaf of bread," you continue. "And, yeah, he tried to escape prison, but he didn't deserve to be there in the first place. And, yeah, he stole again, but he changed. And then... Cosette. And Marius. And he died."

"I know," Remus repeats.

"And Fantine... And Javert! He just... jumped. I mean..."

"At least Cosette and Marius got married."

"What about Éponine? And Gavroche? The Les Amis?"

Remus only shrugs. You look over at him and he dries your eyes. "Are you not crying?" you ask incredulously.

He pulls you in and hugs you to his chest. "No."

He's lying.

Sirius - All Dogs Go to Heaven (Spoilers!)

"Why did the dog have to die?" Sirius asks, furiously wiping away his tears.

You shake your head, your eyes watery as well. "I don't know, babe, I don't know."

"And not only that," he says, sniffling, "the little girl, too. The voice actress, Judith Barsi - she didn't even get to see the movie! That poor little girl..."

"I know," you say, kissing his forehead. "It's sad. I know."

"And the watch..." he trails off. "And Itchy. And Anne-Marie... This movie is too sad for children."

"Sirius... you are a children."

"That's not even proper English."

You sigh and hand him a tissue. He blows his nose. "You know, watching Charlie die was like... watching me die."

"What do you mean?" you ask.

He looks like a James in headlights. "Um..."

And that's how you find out Sirius is an Animagus.
