But I needed you too

I know that they needed you.
And I know when I need you it's nothing new
But I still needed you.

I know he's your boyfriend
And you'd rather talk to him for hours on end
But I thought I was your best friend
Why is that coming to an end?

I know she needed you.
But I needed you too.
I know she's your girlfriend.
But I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to hit send
But I did. I reached out to you. And got silence in return.

I know you were needed elsewhere.
Answering the call of the one who has your heart.
But did you forget how to handle my heart
Because I think you just ripped it apart.

I know they needed you.
But I needed you too.

Well. That's my poem I just whipped up. Had an idea for this kinda theme/feeling for a while but words weren't coming lol. Was going to write it as a story (still might) but here's it in a poem. I actually have a rhyme scheme (somewhat) this time! Also I submitted that other poem, I made a few small adjustment and sent it in. Kinda scared because if I win they are like gonna read it at the playwrite festival where I think they're gonna act out multiple like short stories and read poems and monologues. Idk how it works but I'll let you know if my poem gets chose.
