I'm speechless. I haven't even gathered my thoughts on this one yet.
I hate most romance tropes. Even friends to lovers because now I'm afraid if I make two people really close friends people are gonna assume it's a friends to lovers. Now, friends to lovers isn't nearly as bad as the others I don't like, it just makes me feel like now everyone thinks people can't have a super strong bond without it being romantic ya know.
There's many tropes I could rant about on here. But I had NO idea this was a trope. Having a large age gap.

10 years!? (I mean...not the worst depending on when they met. Like 30 and 40 eh okay, 15 and 25 hell no)
12 years!?
19 years!??
22 years!!?? I'm sorry!?? UM NO.
Like unless all these age gaps the characters met when they were like above 25 or even 30 ew.
Like the older you get I do think age gaps matter less. Like 50 and 64? I probably wouldn't bat an eye.
20 and 34, eh...little weird but it's not illegal.
16 and 30? Jail.
Even if you don't date until like 30 and 44 it's still weird because you met when one of you was a child and the other was out of college probably.
And this is a TROPE? you're telling me multiple authors did this?
