My semifinal battle against Trace continues as we sent in our next Pokémon: Trace sent in Rapidash and I sent Charizard back in!
Cameron: Charizard, use Air Slash!
Trace: Rapidash, Poison Jab!
Rapidash speedily approached Charizard and readied a Poison Lab at its horn!
Charizard fired many Air Slashes, but Rapidash dodged them all, jabbing Charizard with its horn!
Cameron: Use Thunder Punch!
Charizard hit Rapidash to the side with Thunder Punch!
Rapidash recoiled to the side after the heavy hit!
Trace: You okay, Rapidash?
Rapidash nodded after shaking off the damage.
Trace: Use Flare Blitz!
Rapidash charged into Charizard with a fiery tackle!
Charizard was hit back to my side!
Cameron: Use Flamethrower!
Charizard fired a Flamethrower!
Trace: Use Fire Blast!
Fire Blast overwhelmed the Flamethrower and scored a critical hit on Charizard!
Suddenly, Charizard unleashed its Blaze Ability, draping itself in a fiery aura!
Cameron: Awesome, Charizard! Use Blast Burn!!
Charizard blasted a powerful Blast Burn, overwhelming and defeating Rapidash!
Charizard was victorious, but once it pulled off a victory roar, it fainted from exhaustion!
I was surprised! Its Blaze ability must've tired it out.
Cameron: Amazing battle, Charizard. You did great!
Returning Charizard, our battle was just heating up!
Trace sent in Slowbro, and I sent in Lapras!
Trace: Slowbro, use Surf!
Slowbro created a heavy wave of water!
Cameron: Lapras, use Psychic!
Lapras used Psychic to drive a wedge in the water and make Surf miss!
Cameron: Use Ice Beam!
Lapras fired an Ice Beam!
Trace: Use Ice Beam as well!
Slowbro fired an Ice Beam also!
The moves clashed into an icy mist!
Cameron: Go, Lapras! Use Hydro Pump!
Lapras was about to fire Hydro Pump, but instead blew a howling storm of ice at Slowbro, freezing it!
Cameron: Lapras! You learned Blizzard!
Lapras exclaimed in excitement as it nodded!
Cameron: Our chance is open, Lapras! Use Ice Beam!
Lapras scored a devastating critical hit on Slowbro with Ice Beam, resulting in Slowbro's defeat!
I returned Lapras, because both Trace and I knew our last Pokémon.
Cameron: Pikachu, let's party!
Pikachu excitedly jumped to the battlefield!
Trace: Jolteon, good luck!
Jolteon generated electricity as it faced Pikachu. It was officially a battle for our partners to enjoy!
Both: Use Thunder!
Both Electric-type Pokémon pulled Thunder causing an electric shockwave!
Cameron: Use Iron Tail!
Trace: Use Double Kick!
Both Pokémon kept up their physical struggle, hit after hit, attack after attack!
Trace: Jolteon, use Pin Missile!
Jolteon fired pins from its pointed fur at Pikachu!
Cameron: Dodge it and use Quick Attack!
Pikachu evaded the Pin Missile and hit Jolteon with Quick Attack!
Trace: Use Swift!
Jolteon fired a powerful Swift!
Cameron: Use Thunderbolt!
Thunderbolt created an explosion with Swift, giving the two Pokémon better cover.
Both: Quick Attack!
Pikachu and Jolteon ran towards each other with all they have!
Cameron: Iron Tail!
Trace: Double Kick!
Both Pokémon scored a direct hit on one another!
Soon, both Pikachu and Jolteon fell to the floor.
After a short minute, Pikachu got up. She won!
I'm moving on to the finals!
Trace, looking upset but happy, walked over and gave me a handshake.
Trace: Thanks for the awesome battle, Cameron. I'll be rooting for you in the finals!
Cameron: Thanks, Trace!
Trace and I did a fist bump, indicating our friendship unbroken!
Now that I'm in the finals, I can't wait to see who my next opponent is!
