After my battle with Flint yesterday, I was more ready than ever to battle Volkner! I arrived at the Sunyshore Gym and saw Volkner waiting patiently at the battlefield.
Volkner: Ready?
I nodded confidently.
Volkner: Alright, let's get this over with.
Volkner sent out a Raichu!
Cameron: Alright, Pikachu! This is all on you!
Pikachu jumped from my shoulder and landed on the battlefield!
Volkner: Raichu, Thunder Punch.
Raichu prepared Thunder Punch!
Cameron: Iron Tail!
Pikachu clashed with Raichu head-on with Iron Tail! The two Pokémon threw hit after hit, blow after blow, until the last clash dragged them both back to their respective Trainers!
Both: Thunderbolt!
Pikachu and Raichu clashed once again with Thunderbolt! Pikachu was beginning to get pushed back by Raichu within a second!
Cameron: Come on, Pikachu. Don't give up. We've been through so much together. Let's keep on fighting!
Pikachu's electric power increased once again, driving Raichu back!
Volkner became astonished at Pikachu's power boost. He began to smile.
Volkner: This is getting impressive! Show me the best out of that Pikachu!
Cameron: I plan to! Pikachu, Rising Voltage!
Pikachu dropped to all fours and sent an electric current through the ground, overpowering and defeating Raichu!
Volkner was more excited than ever, sending out a Luxray as his next Pokémon!
Cameron: Let's keep the heat going! Use Thunderbolt!
Pikachu fired a powerful Thunderbolt!
Volkner: Use Magnet Rise!
Luxray rose upward using electromagnetism, steering clear of Thunderbolt!
Cameron: Jump up toward Luxray with Quick Attack!
Pikachu lunged toward the Gleam Eyes Pokémon with Quick Attack, immediately reaching its current height in the air! However...
Volkner: Got you! Luxray, use Superpower!
Pikachu was finished off by a heavy Superpower!
Cameron: You did amazing, Pikachu. Thanks!
Pikachu nodded before I helped her back to her usual spot on my shoulder. I soon sent out Cacnea as my next Pokémon!
Volkner: Good choice. Now, let's see what kind of challenge this will pose for you. Luxray, Discharge!
Luxray blasted a Discharge, preventing Cacnea from any point of escape!
Cameron: Stand firm!
Cacnea took on Discharge! It was pretty tough despite it being used on a Grass-type.
Cameron: Retaliate with Payback!
Cacnea sent its powerful Payback at Luxray, driving it back!
Volkner: Now, Luxray, use Wild Charge!
Luxray shot forward quickly with Wild Charge!
Cameron: Cacnea, I have a stylish idea. Use Energy Ball and shoot it up!
