Reaching the doors of Mossdeep City's Pokémon Gym, I was excited all over. It has been a while since I had a Gym battle, so I better keep that excitement going!
We stepped on a teleporter once we entered the Gym, immediately taking us to the Gym Leader...or should I say, Gym Leaders!
Tate: Hello! I'm Tate!
Liza: And I am Liza.
Both: We are twins!
Tate: We use...
Liza: ...psychic power to...
Tate: ..read each other's minds.
Liza: Do you...
Tate: ...think you can...
Both: ...beat us in a Double Battle?
Cameron: I'll do my best!
Both: Then prepare for battle!
Tate and Liza sent out Lunatone and Solrock respectively.
Pokédex: Lunatone, the Meteorite Pokémon. A Rock- and Psychic-type. Lunatone becomes active at nighttime, using psychic power to move around. Any opponents that look into its eyes will become transfixed in fear.
Solrock, the Meteorite Pokémon. A Rock- and Psychic-type. Solrock gains power under the light of the sun. This Pokémon radiates heat whilst rotating its body.
I sent in Grovyle and Gardevoir to oppose the two!
Both: Use Psyshock!
Both Meteorite Pokémon generated a psychic wave, dealing good damage on both Grovyle and Gardevoir!
Cameron: Grovyle, use Energy Ball on Solrock! Gardevoir, Psychic on Lunatone!
Grovyle shot an Energy Ball, while Gardevoir attacked with Psychic!
Liza: Solrock, Iron Defense!
Tate: Lunatone, Calm Mind!
Both Pokémon raised their defenses, withstanding both attacks!
Liza: Solrock, use Flare Blitz on Grovyle!
Solrock resorted to a fiery tackle toward Grovyle!
Tate: Lunatone, use Rock Throw on Gardevoir!
Lunatone dropped a large rock down toward Gardevoir!
Cameron: Grovyle, dodge it and use X-Scissor on Lunatone! Gardevoir, use Double Team!
Grovyle's leaves started glowing a darkish green, while Gardevoir avoided Rock Throw with Double Team!
Grovyle's X-Scissor landed successfully on Lunatone, scoring a critical hit!
Lunatone was defeated from the critical damage!
Grovyle stood firm for the twins' next move!
Liza: Solrock, use Fire Spin!
Solrock spun around, lamenting a vortex of fire around Gardevoir!
Grovyle quickly pushed Gardevoir out of the way, taking the hit from Fire Spin!
With Grovyle defeated, it's one-on-one!
Liza: I should have known it came to this, so I shall make sure you won't win this! Solrock, use Shadow Ball!
Cameron: Gardevoir, Moonblast!
Both Pokémon launched each other's attacks, causing an explosion on impact!
Cameron: Use Future Sight!
Gardevoir used its power and predicted an attack!
Liza: Flare Blitz!
Solrock charged with Flare Blitz once again!
Cameron: Put it in the air with Psychic!
Gardevoir focused a stronger Psychic, sending Solrock into the air!
Once Solrock was in the air, I felt it. Future Sight was about to kick in!
Cameron: Gardevoir, throw Solrock into the Future Sight attack!
Gardevoir threw Solrock to where Future Sight activated, heavily damaging it!
After facing a strong attack, Solrock was still standing! Both Pokémon had one more attack in them before they were finished, so we need a strong finish.
Liza: Use Fire Spin!
Solrock created a fiery vortex!
Gardevoir quickly reacted firing a dark purple ball at Solrock, breaking through the Fire Spin and defeating it!
May: Wow! Gardevoir learned Shadow Ball!
Cameron: Nice job, Gardevoir!
Gardevoir nodded in approval!
Tate: Wow! You are one fantastic Trainer!
Liza: Who knew you had a Psychic-type Pokémon who had a very high level of trust toward you?
Cameron: Me and Gardevoir became more in sync ever since she evolved. She's a keeper!
Gardevoir blushed at my compliment!
Tate: Cool! Since you won against us, we give you...
Both: The Mind Badge!
I accepted the Gym Badge and thanked the twins for the battle. I had a lot of fun!
Tate: We had fun as well! Me and Liza both knew we were tough Trainers, but you showed a lot of prowess.
Liza: Your last destination is Sootopolis City, correct? We wish you luck on your final badge.
Cameron: Thank you!
We all said our last goodbyes before leaving the Gym.
May: You did it!
Elaine: Just one badge to go!
Cameron: Yep. I can't wait!
