Decisions About Each Other

The Octonauts are a family, and they practically "adopted" each other and decided to love each other forever.

The most well-known example is of the Captain deciding everyone who lived aboard the Octopod or anyone who was a friend of his "children" were immediately his child.

Paani was very touch-starved, and was a bit uncomfortable about even bumping elbows with another person, but when the Captain gave him a hug and carried him for the first time, he practically melted into the embrace and had to admit it felt nice.

The Captain will make sure all his "children" get ample attention from him, and will take any opportunity he can to spend time with them.

Dashi took one look at Peso when she arrived on the Octopod and was like "Yes. He is baby. Must protect him." And she did. Whenever Peso got scared of the dark or thought there was a monster, he'd run into her room, and she'd either let him sleep with her for that night (If you mention "that", I will find you and set my OC on you) or go to his room and show him that there was no monster, and cuddle him until he falls asleep.

Everyone decided the Vegimals were their babies the day they met, and they will cuddle their babies endlessly whenever the Vegimals are scared.

Everyone will go to any lengths to entertain the Vegimals. Tweak has put on a show using her tools as puppets, and Dashi will dance around the room singing "Helpless" for Hamilton for the cuties.

The kids have decided that they love each other (despite the endless pranking) and they'll treat each other like siblings. All of them get on each other's nerves, but they all still love each other, and will do anything to help one another. 

All of the older kids have babied Pinto at some point. All of them.
