The Logbook Pt. 2

Grandparents

Everyone on the Octopod's grandparents love them and they love them right back even if their grandparents have told all their friends their embarrassing baby stories and have no clue how modern technology works and are a bit old-fashioned.

The Captain's grandfather was a part of the British Navy, so when the Captain's grandparents visited him and Bianca for the first time when they were cubs, they brought both of them matching little Captain's hats that read "The world's greatest Captain." Dashi is now in possession of the photos of him wearing the hat, and she and Tweak have made a bigger replica of the hat to give to him.

The second Calico Jack's daughter brought her new son out for her father to see, Calico Jack swore he didn't cry, but Kwazii's mother has a very clear memory of him sobbing the second he laid eyes on Baby Kwazii, and immediately pulling baby Kwazii close to him and whispering, "Hey there, little matey. Grandad loves ya, and he won't let any mean creatures hurt you, oh no he won't. Aren't you the cutest little scallywag I've ever laid eyes on!" On and on this went for a good 10 minutes, and Calico Jack has insisted on singing Kwazii lullabies even now, especially that special lullaby from the Harlequin Duck.

Peso's and Pinto's grandmother thought her grandsons were the cutest things ever, and every time she visited, she'd always bring her "little darlings" their favorite candies.

Shellington's grandfather was one of those fun old people who knew a whole bunch of old fashioned magic tricks that he'd show to his grandchildren. Such as pulling a toy out of a hat. He and Shellington's grandmother lived in a coastal town in Scotland, and they were actually the ones who bought Shellington a tiny green checkered kilt when he was 2.

Dashi's grandparents made at least 30 trips a day to her parents' apartment when she was first born cos her parents had no idea what to do. This kinda was their first time after all. Since she was an immigrant from Germany, and she wasn't too fluent in English yet, Dashi spoke only German until she was put into preschool.

Inkling is so old that whenever he used to take Squirt on a walk, he'd usually be mistaken for Squirt's grandfather and not his uncle.He's gotten used to it and will only correct them.

Inkling thought his father was a very serious scholar who believed in stoicism and could not be broken by anything until baby Squirt came along, and the second Inkling's father held Squirt for the first time, he broke down crying and spent a long time cooing over what a sweet little grandson he had.

Inkling was the best grandfather to the Vegimals imaginable. He'd always read the cuties stories and he was actually the one who gave the cuties most of their recipes and taught them how to cook.

Ranger Marsh's parents loved Tweak from the second they saw her, and insisted they take her for a while. Once Ranger Marsh came back to get her, he found a very grumpy baby Tweak dressed up in a frilly dress fit for a Southern belle. Tweak obviously was not thrilled about being in a dress even then, but she loved her grandparents to pieces and would be bouncing off the walls with excitement whenever they'd visit.
