The Logbook Pt. 2

Obsessions

Mostly everyone on the Octopod has some sort of obsession no matter what it is and no matter how silly it seems.

All of them (minus Inkling who hates Hamilton with a passion cos it's "historically inaccurate") have obsessions with Hamilton ranging from very severe to slightly into it. It's gotten to the point where if someone says something that sounds like one of the lyrics from Hamilton, the closest person to them will start singing the whole song such as when Tweak told Kwazii "You disgust me". so Kwazii said, "Ah, so you've discussed me; I'm a trust fund, baby, you can trust me." Tweak was so excited about the Hamilton reference that she couldn't punch him in the face for it.

Shellington and his science obsession. Every single day, Shellington seems to have a sciencey thing that he cannot stop talking about and that he feels the need to info-dump to everyone he sees. Inkling and the Vegimals are the only ones who've never gotten bored by whatever he wanted to dump on them. Inkling will only sit politely and tell everyone around to 'hush' so Shellington can info-dump to him, and the baby Vegimals will cuddle up to "Daddy Shellydo" and listen to whatever he has to say about whatever sciencey thing and go "ooh" and "ahh" cos whatever Shellington is telling them will make them "so smart".

Dashi is absolutely obsessed with pop music of any kind. At this point, whenever she plays a song, everyone will groan cos Dashi's made them listen to it 500 times.

Peso has an obsession with soft things such as stuffed animals. He has a whole collection of them, and when he isn't busy, he'll go into his closet where he keeps them all and just snuggle them cos they're so soft and so comfy and nice to snuggle.

The kids all have obsessions of their own that they'll never let go of anytime soon.

Koshi has been in love with Donna Doxi since the second Dashi read one of the books to her when she was three. As she was first writing stories, her biggest inspiration was Donna Doxi, and when she first got to meet the author of Donna Doxi when she became an author herself, she was ecstatic and could barely get a word out.

Squirt likes science, but he has a Nordic mythology addiction. He loves anything to do with Thor and Odin, and loved all the Marvel 'Thor' movies. He's begged all his friends to watch the movies with him, and cos Squirt's the nicest "brother" ever, none of the other kids could say no. Inkling even made Thor's hammer for Squirt as a birthday present one year.

Jane loves punk. No surprises. She loves the anarchist aspect and the idea that everyone, despite differences of any kind, can have an equal opportunity to express themselves. She got into the music big time as a little puppy starting from the Ramones and ending with absolutely loving Against Me and Bad Religion. She always wanted to play in a punk band, but drawing punk political art and satires was more her style.

Pinto loved pirates and medical stuff of all kinds cos he wanted to be just like his big brother and Kwazii. He'd beg his friends to play pirates with him or listen to the newest pirate story Kwazii told him. The others have even let him bandage them cos he wanted to "practice his bandaging skills"
