On the Octopod, everyone has different needs, habits, etc. no one's ever shamed for theirs, and everyone will try to understand and support each other as best as they can.

Peso is an adult legally, but emotionally, he's still a kid, but he wants to grow up for the sake of his crew so badly. Everyone will understand, and will take care of him whenever he needs it, despite his protests. The Captain has even fed him once simply cos the Captain is too much of a daddy.

Peso in turn will take care of everyone when they're hurt or sick or sad, and try to offer a bit of his sweet reassurance and cuddles to make them feel better cos he's too sweet for his own good and telling whoever came to him how much they mean to him, and how he wants them to feel better.

The kids can always understand each other, and they always have 3 built in confidants who'll always keep any secret for them.

When Squirt first decided to drop out of an honors science college that Inkling put him in to do educate sea creatures on plastic, he told Koshi about his plan even before he told Shellington, who first proposed the idea to him, and she helped him get everything ready and make arrangements cos he's her little brother, and they were the only relatively normal ones out of all four of the kids.

Speaking of which, whenever Jane's really, REALLY mad, she'll start ranting in German and Spanish, and she doesn't know "German and Spanish" she knows "Foreign language" Her mind will always mix up German and Spanish words, and so far, Pinto's the only one who can keep up with her ranting. He can translate all of the Spanish and most of the German since he's already had Jane's whole arsenal of German insults used on him.

The baby Vegimals aren't "adult" enough to understand big problems like speciesism and violence, and discrimination and abuse, but they try, and say "I sowwy theya meana! I wuva yooa. Is ita better nowa." to anyone whenever they hear of such a thing happening, and no one has the heart to tell them how that can't really stop it from happening.
