Everyone on the Octopod is used to the chaos that is the Octopod and everyone acts as if they hate it, but really, they secretly love it.
The Captain is so used to his crew's chaos that he can literally sit in the middle of the kitchen and sip on his coffee while watching Peso chasing Kwazii around, begging for him to eat something that wasn't dripping with sugar and Shellington attempting to detach 12 lovestruck Vegimals from his legs.
When Kwazii attempted to bungee jump from the top floor of the library with no protection but a bike helmet and a bunch of pillows tied around him with a bunch of rubber bands. It failed, the Captain nearly had a heart attack when he saw and instantly put Kwazii in his lap, started checking him for injuries and brought him to Peso.
There is never a still or quiet moment on the Octopod. There's always something interesting whether it's one of Shellington's chemicals beginning to hiss and fizz or a huge fight between the kids over which Marvel franchise is the best.
In the morning, if everyone has an appointment or somewhere to be, everything falls apart before they're even out the door. When they're supposed to leave, Kwazii somehow got himself tied up in shoelaces and Tweak still isn't out of bed.
The Vegimals love giving hugs to people they think are having a "tiring day" and telling them that they "wuv" them and giving them either a mug of hot cocoa or a fresh fish biscuit.
The kids are little bundles of sheer craziness. When Inkling suggested they make something out of dominoes to get them to stop trying to climb onto the walls, the kids ended up using Inkling's books to make a dominoes line.
Inkling is the one who usually gets stuck taking care of the kids. He's not thrilled, especially the incident in which his Rolling Stones record ended up getting stuck in the DVD player in the Game Pod, and the kids swore blind they had nothing to do with it.
