Running Errands

Running errands on the Octopod is always an interesting experience. Sometimes it ends in everyone getting what they need done, and sometimes it results in Google searching for adult and older child sized leashes.

Whenever the Octonauts need to run errands, it's usually because they docked up on shore and they need to get something they can't find in the ocean or get some stuff done, like going to the bank to take out some money.

Usually, Dashi and Peso run errands together, and they usually bring the kids, Kwazii (they don't want to, but they do want to give the Captain a break from babysitting), and sometimes Tweak or the Vegimals along.

When Dashi, Peso, and Inkling needed to go to the bank once, they told all the kids, the Vegimals, and Kwazii (for obvious reasons) that they could each have one of the lollipops there just to keep them quiet for at least 5 minutes. Yes, they were desperate enough to risk the sugar rush.

It kinda backfired when the kids came running up to Dashi while they were in the middle of something yelling that Kwazii stuck 8 lollipops into his mouth at once.

Lesson learned: never leave the kids, Vegimals, or Kwazii alone for a second.

The first time Dashi dragged Tweak and all the Vegimals with her to the furniture store to get some decorations for the Octopod (and so Dashi could buy this one carrot lamp and carrot shaped bedside table set for Tweak), they ended up staying for an hour longer than they wanted to cos the Vegimals wanted to feel all the fluffy throw pillows and blankets. Even though Tweak was a bit annoyed, she and Dashi both died of cuteness at the Vegimals giving a pillow hugs cos it's so fluffy.

Taking the Vegimals to the grocery store is even more of a hassle. Usually, Shellington comes along as well. The first time the Vegimals were taken to the grocery store, they had to pay an extra 30
dollars for all the food that the cuties "sampled", the second time, the Vegimals decided the store would be a great place to play hide and seek and it took 2 hours to find them all. The third time didn't end as badly. Shellington had discovered a children's book about marine life, and he sat on the floor of the store with all the Vegimals cuddled up to him and read to them.

Whenever Peso goes to the grocery store, he cannot reach things any higher than the third shelf, so his friends help him reach them. If none of them can reach it, all of them have resorted to putting Peso on their shoulders at some time or another.

The first time Dashi took all the kids to the supermarket (by herself) she practically had to drag the older kids away from the book section before realizing that the younger kids stole the cart and were trying to do wheelies (tip it on the back two wheels) with it.

All the Octonauts consider it a miracle that they've never been kicked out of any store yet.
