As all the guardians on the Octopod know, raising children isn't easy, which is why everyone on the Octopod tries to help.

The kids are little monsters a lot of the time, but they love everyone on the Octopod with all the love in their warm little hearts.

Everyone has had to make a few changes to the Octopod for the kids. There's a time out chair in the library specifically for when the kids misbehave, and they'll have to sit on it one minute for every year they've been alive, and once they're finished with the chair, whoever placed them on the chair will go up to them and ask them why they got placed on the chair, and why it was wrong to do it, and ask them to apologize. If they don't, it's another turn on the timeout chair, and it'll go on until they apologize.

All the kids have gone to the naughty chair at some point in their childhoods (including the time the Captain dragged in an extra chair and made both Kwazii and Tweak sit in the library to think about what they've done after they nearly screamed the Octopod down while fighting with each other).

The baby Vegimals are random, very random, and Shellington loves all his babies for it so much. The baby Vegimals will randomly fall on each other's heads and start giggling adorably cos falling on each other is fun.

Tweak loves her "babies" with all her heart. She will never let any harm come to the kids if she can help it, and even if she'll never admit it willingly, she's soft for them. The first time one of them fell asleep on her while playing video games, she held as still as she could out of fear that she'd wake them up.

Now, if a kid (or Vegimal) falls asleep on her, she'll just shift them into her arms and hold them there until she stops coping over how adorable they are and carries them to bed (being more gentle than she is with her tools, and that's saying something)

Inkling practically acts like a nanny to all the kids. He doesn't mind going from a college professor to a nanny for 8-10 year olds. They're his "little ones" whether he's legally responsible for them or not, and he loves the "surprises" taking care of little kids brings, and the way all of them love him so much and trust him with all their hearts.

If the Captain sees one of his little ones, whoever it is, he'll give them a big hug and kiss and tell them he loves them with all his heart cos to him because his crew is  the world to him, and he would hate them to think he loves them any less than he does.

The kids love all their guardians so much, and are so so grateful to them for taking them in, and usually every night after their guardians are finished with their work, the kids will give them cuddles in bed or put on their favorite music/movie and listen/watch it with them.
