Making It Bearable

Some things for the Octopod Family can be handled, some (like Kwazii...) cannot.

Taking the kids for medical checks (glasses checks for Squirt, Dental appointments, blood doctors for the girls cos of their hemophilia genes) usually isn't easy.

All the kids immediately run and hide the moment they're told about the appointment, and hide under a bed, inside Tweak's tool cabinet,inside of a tiny closet, etc. Usually, Peso will lure them out with the promise of a kelp cake and allowing them to take one of their favorite toys along.

What Peso will do to prepare them for the appointment is he'll very politely ask them if he can have their toy, and when they give it to him, he'll very gently demonstrate what will happen in the appointment on the toy, and show how it doesn't hurt at all.

Whenever Kwazii gets "bored" , he considers it the most fun thing in the universe to annoy Tweak or Shellington. So far, Shellington locks the door whenever he hears Kwazii coming and there's a huge sign in the Launch Bay above Tweak's workshop saying "No Kwaziis allowed beyond this point."

The baby Vegimals are terrified of being alone at night, so "Daddy Shellydo" promised to stay in the hallway right outside their door.

Once the Captain realized this, he got an air mattress out of the closet and forced Shellington to sleep on that and very sweetly leading anyone coming down that hallway back to bed, normally providing them with a snack and a glass of water so they wouldn't be hungry/thirsty and singing them a lullaby to get them to sleep faster.

Peso is terrified of the dark. Every night, he turns on a nightlight so his room isn't too dark, but he's still a little afraid of the shadows on the walls that the nightlight created.

He'll usually run to Kwazii's room, and Kwazii will let him cuddle up to him in his bed and reassure Peso that he would never let the monsters get him.
