The Logbook Pt. 2

Octopod Tournament

Everytime Paani comes over, everyone has a bit of an Octopod Olympics match with him, and it's fun. Mostly.

They usually play outside, but if the weather's bad, everyone clears up a little space in the Garden Pod and Tweak and Jane even made 2 little goals for the games.

When Paani comes over, Kwazii insists on playing soccer with him (or football if you call it that), and they let everyone else play as well. Kwazii and Paani are always on a team together, and neither side goes easy on the other.

(OK there was the one time Kwazii and Paani got their tails handed to them by the kids, and the kids ended up taking pity on them and letting them score a few goals. Tweak found it hilarious and decided to help them out a bit.)

Tweak usually plays cos she wants to one up Kwazii, and they will play a five minute game and then argue for hours trying to see who is better, and then giving each other a hug afterwards cos they're both sad from all the fighting.

Kwazii and Paani are fierce, but if one of the kids so much as stumbled, both of them will immediately stop the game and run to the kid at full speed asking them if they were OK, and if they got hurt, and send another one of the kids to get Peso.

Peso very politely says no whenever anyone else asks him to play simply cos he wants to stay on the sidelines and watch in case anyone gets hurt.

He's such a sweet little sugar puff that he just cheers for both teams since he doesn't want to make anyone sad by showing favoritism.

The Captain will sometimes play, and he's an absolute legend at goalie since he's so big, and his huge paws come in handy when trying to catch the ball. Sometimes he sits on the sidelines carrying cold drinks, sunscreen, bandaids, and extra changes of clothes for all of his babies, and Peso on his shoulders so Peso can watch the game.

Dashi usually watches. She isn't too into sports, and the amount of mud her sisters have on their clothes after a game is crazy.

No. Once Pinto was goalie, and Paani kicked a ball right at him, so Pinto ran and practically pounced the ball (he missed and landed face first in a mud puddle.)

The Captain tried to give Pinto a bath, and the whole Octopod had to be cleaned afterwards because Pinto RAN for it, and the Captain had to chase him all around the Octopod, until the Captain scooped Pinto into his arms and carried him to the bathroom for a bath. The Captain had muddy stains on his fur for the next week cos his fur is pure white.

Shellington sometimes wants to play, but Peso very politely asks him not to cos it's Shellington, and he doesn't want him to get hurt (No, Shellington fell on his butt trying to kick the ball.)

Peso will old-people baby Inkling and refuse to let him play cos he's OLD, but Inkling always very kindly tries to lessen Peso's worries, and plays anyways. He's a master goalie with 8 arms and all that.

The Vegimals will sometimes ask to play too, so everyone else changes the game to "Vegimal Mode" so the baby Vegimals can keep up and won't get hurt.
