A lot of people on the Octopod have tried to deny something that was a little too obvious to the person they were trying to deny it to.
Such as when Kwazii falls asleep on movie nights. He says that pirates are made for the nighttime, and the idea that he was asleep is *in an Inkling accent* absurd! But his snoring could be heard by the fish a mile away, so it's kinda hard to believe.
The same goes for when he said he didn't cry when Pinto first did a presentation on how great Kwazii and Peso were. He had tears rolling down his eyes and he was positively howling, but nooooo, he "wasn't crying".
Dashi often tries to deny her celebrity crushes, but one look at her camera roll in her phone will say otherwise. Once when Koshi was allowed to play on her phone for a little while, she ended up looking at all the photos of Dashi's phone out of curiosity, and she discovered the motherload of Harry Styles screenshots.
Tweak tries to deny the fact that she sneaks into the kitchen to eat all the carrot flavored kelp cakes made for her by the Vegimals at 4 AM because she was hungry and she wanted a snack. It became kind of hard to deny it once the Vegimals found out all the kelp cakes were gone, and there were telltale crumbs in Tweak's bed.
Since Jane's older than Pinto by a bit (and cos Pinto's college started weeks later), when it came time for her to move out, neither she nor Pinto were willing to admit they'd miss each other, but Pinto had laid on the floor of the library and cried for a good 2 hours after his best friend left, and Jane sulked in her dorm room for at least a week cos she missed Pinto and everyone else.
All the Vegimals (minus Tunip) sometimes like to snack on whatever they're cooking. When they're caught, they don't even try to deny it cos they're such pure sweet little babies and they think lying is the worst thing ever. In fact, they'll just stand there with crumbs all over their cute little faces and guilty little sad faces and tell Tunip they're sorry.
