First Quidditch Match

Since Madame Nora was attacked, the castle caretaker, Mr. Argus Filch, had become depressed. He walked daily to the spot where Madame Nora was attacked, watching all the students pass by with hostile eyes, especially the Slytherins. He felt that the attacker could strike again.

Sasuke walked down that corridor, paying no attention to Filch, as it was just a cat that had been attacked. To him, it was more likely a prank by the Weasley twins. When he turned the corner, he saw the door to the girls' bathroom. He had heard rumors that this bathroom was unused because it was haunted by the ghost of Moaning Myrtle, a Ravenclaw student who had died in the castle.

Sasuke pondered how it was possible for a student to die at this school, as if the safety of the students were not a concern, allowing them to act as they pleased without considering the consequences.

Upon leaving the castle, Sasuke went to observe the Thestrals, as they had caught his attention; only those who had seen death could see them. Additionally, he wanted to collect some Thestral hair to sell in Diagon Alley.

When he found the Thestrals, he was surprised to see his potions classmate, Luna Lovegood, there as well.

Luna: Hello, Sasuke Uchiha. Did you come to see the Thestrals too?

Sasuke: Yes.

Luna: I see.

Luna had a bag filled with various types of food, from fruits and vegetables to meat. She was tossing the food to the Thestrals to determine their dietary preferences.

Sasuke: Throw the meat to them. Thestrals are carnivores.

Luna: Thank you.

Sasuke: Since you can see them, it means you've seen someone die, right?

Luna: Yes, my mother. She liked to experiment with spells. When I was nine, one of her experiments went wrong.

Sasuke: I'm sorry to hear that.

Luna: I still have my father, so I'm not sad. What about you, Sasuke?

Sasuke changed the subject.

Sasuke: Why are you wearing different pairs of shoes?

Luna replied earnestly.

Luna: Some of my classmates think it's funny to hide my things. That's why there are times when I have to sleep with my shoes on. They hide my things and then warn me not to be late for class, especially for Professor Snape's class.

While Luna was feeding the Thestrals, Sasuke took a shuriken and threw it to trim the hairs on the Thestrals' tails.

The shuriken came back to his hand, and with a quick flick of his wand, he collected the hairs and stored them in a leather pouch.

Both wizards headed back to the castle, as it was time for breakfast. While walking down the corridor, Sasuke noticed something stuck in a beam.

Sasuke: There are your shoes.

Luna: Now I'll have to get a ladder.

Sasuke: Use the levitation spell we learned in Professor Flitwick's class.

Luna: Good idea - she said, smiling as she took her wand - Wingardium Leviosa.

The pair of shoes began to float and gently descended into her other hand.

Luna: Thank you for finding them. I never thought to look up to find them.

Sasuke wasn't paying attention, as three Ravenclaw students approached from behind a suit of armor. Sasuke recognized the angry expression of the girl accompanying the trio, as if her plan had failed. Her gaze was focused on Luna's shoes.
