Meeting at the Hog's Head I

One week before the visit to Hogsmeade, Harry, Ron, and Hermione managed to speak with Sirius through the Floo Network.

Sirius: I was starting to think you would fall asleep before the others left. I came to check the fireplace every hour.

Harry: You kept popping up in the fireplace all the time? - He asked, struggling not to laugh.

Sirius: I took a quick look to see if anyone was still around.

Hermione: But what if someone had seen you? - She said nervously.

Sirius: Well, I think a first-year girl saw me, but don't worry, I disappeared the moment she noticed. She probably thought it was just a log with a strange shape.

Hermione: But Sirius, that's very risky.

Sirius: You remind me of Molly, but let's not waste time now. Let's get to the topic of your scar.

Ron: What about the scar...? - He said, but was interrupted by Hermione.

Hermione: We'll tell you later, Ron. Go on, Sirius.

Sirius: Look, I don't think the pain from your scar is something we should be worried about. It didn't hurt continuously last year, did it?

Harry: No, Dumbledore said it happens when Voldemort feels a strong emotion - He said, ignoring Ron and Hermione's disgusted expressions - Maybe it happens because Voldemort is... I don't know, really angry, or maybe it was because of what happened during my detention.

Sirius: Well, with his return, it's understandable that you'd be feeling pain more frequently.

Harry: So you think the pain has nothing to do with what Professor Umbridge did to me during detention?

Sirius: I don't think so. I don't know her personally, but I know her reputation, and I'm sure she's not a Death Eater.

Harry: But she's despicable enough to be one - He said, supported by Ron and Hermione.

Sirius: That might be true, but the world isn't divided into good people and Death Eaters. Anyway, I already know she's an idiot. You should have heard what Lupin had to say about her.

Harry: Lupin knows her?

Sirius: No, but she enacted a werewolf law that basically made it impossible for anyone with lycanthropy to find a job.

Sirius: Apparently, he hates half-humans. Last year, he campaigned to gather all the water people and label them. Imagine wasting time and energy hunting down water people when there are so many scoundrels on the loose, like Monster.

Ron let out a light laugh, making Hermione irritated.

Sirius: So, how are Umbridge's classes? What does she do? Is she training you to exterminate hybrids?

Harry: No, she doesn't let us do magic.

Ron: The only thing we do is read those bloody books.

Sirius: That doesn't surprise me. According to our sources in the Ministry, Fudge doesn't want students receiving combat training.

Harry: Combat training - He said incredulously - What do they think we do here? Do they think we're training to form a magical army?

Sirius: That's exactly what they think, or rather, it's exactly what they fear. They fear Dumbledore is building his own private army to confront the Ministry.

Ron: That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life, even stupider than the nonsense Luna Lovegood says.

They couldn't talk anymore as they were interrupted by Umbridge.

A few days later, Hermione had the idea that Harry should teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. He already had the experience, but he was still not convinced.

Two days had passed, and Hermione hadn't insisted that Harry participate; instead, she spent those two days gathering members. She was unsure whether or not to invite Sasuke. They mostly met in the library. In the end, she decided to ask him, trying to be as unassuming as possible.

Sasuke entered the library to continue his research when he saw Hermione approaching.

Hermione: Hi, Sasuke.

Sasuke: Hi.

Hermione: Sasuke, I was wondering if you might be interested in joining a study group.

Sasuke stared at her for a few seconds; Hermione was very nervous.

Hermione: We'll meet at...

Sasuke: I'm not interested.

Hermione: Why not?

Sasuke: I don't have time - He said to end the conversation.

With no other option, Hermione walked away hurt.
