Forbidden Forest I

The next day, there was a match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, with Gryffindor emerging victorious.

Outside the Slytherin common room, Zacharias was holding the Firebolt, ready to return it to Sasuke.

Zacharias: Thanks for lending it to me; it was a great game.

Sasuke: We were lucky that Draco was better prepared than Summerby. Plus, he managed to control the broom well in just two weeks.

Sasuke held the broom in his hands but then said:

Sasuke: Zacharias, keep it.

Zacharias: But it's yours.

Sasuke: It's an early birthday present.

Zacharias: Really?

Sasuke: Yes, keep it.

Zacharias: Thank you so much, really.

Sasuke: Besides, blocking the goalkeeper's line of sight was a good strategy.

Zacharias: I got the idea from your duel with Professor Snape when you threw the table at him.

Sasuke: I see. By the way, call Ginny and Luna. We'll meet at the entrance of the Forbidden Forest in an hour. I'll be waiting for you with Astoria, Daphne, and Draco.

Zacharias: Got it — he said as he dashed away.

Once in the forest, everyone had gathered.

Sasuke: I'm glad you all came.

Luna: But you called us here.

Astoria: What do you mean?

Sasuke took out two maps and handed one to each team, explaining that they needed to go to the designated points and retrieve the flags there.

Both teams ventured into the woods and quickly found their respective flags.

Luna: This is easy; I don't see the challenge here.

The two were nervous due to the stories about the Forbidden Forest. But from the shadows, several eyes were watching them.

Meanwhile, Draco, Ginny, and Zacharias were returning, having easily retrieved their flag. As they walked, a tree trunk fell from the sky, blocking their path. When they turned around, the three couldn't believe their eyes.

Zacharias: This is impossible.

Draco: It shouldn't be here.

Ginny: A GIANT! — she screamed.

The giant roared as it approached them.

Draco: Calm down; we have no choice but to fight.

Ginny: Are you crazy? We need to run!

Zacharias: He's right; if we run, he'll catch us easily. Plus, when he threw the trees, he blocked our escape — he said, glancing around.

Ginny: Do you have a plan or a spell to defeat him? — she asked, drawing her wand.

Draco: No, besides, giants are resistant to magic, just like dragons.

The giant reached out to grab them, but they started casting Stupefy, which had no effect.

The giant raised his club and struck the ground; the shockwave knocked them off their feet.

Draco: Blast it, we're too few to immobilize him!

Zacharias: We need to blind him.

Draco cast a Conjunctivitis Curse, but it was blocked by the giant's club.

Ginny: We have to destroy that club.

Zacharias: On the count of three.

Draco: One.

Ginny: Two.

Zacharias: Three.

All shouted Reducto, pointing at the club, which exploded.

Draco: Don't stop; we need to keep moving. Ginny, do you have the portable swamps?

Ginny: Yes.

Zacharias: Draco, let's draw his attention. Ginny, set the swamps around.

Ginny: Understood.

Draco and Zacharias shouted Vernier and both ran toward the giant. The giant extended his arm to catch them, but they dodged and positioned themselves beside him. They both cast Obscuro, aiming for the giant's head. The giant, unsure of whom to attack first, couldn't dodge the spell, and a blindfold appeared over his eyes.

The giant roared as sparks began to rain down from three directions, and he curled up to protect himself.

The giant grabbed a fallen tree and hurled it at Zacharias. Zacharias shouted Protego, but was still thrown backward.

Zacharias: I'M FINE! — he yelled as he struggled to get back up.

The giant managed to remove the blindfold and charged at Ginny.

Ginny pointed her wand at the giant's eyes and shouted, Conjunctivitis.

The giant screamed and prepared to crush Ginny, who started to scream.

Draco, seeing what was about to happen, activated the Vernier spell and lifted her as he ran away from the giant. He turned and dashed towards them.

Ginny: NOW!

The portable swamps activated, causing the giant to stumble. The three drew their wands and pointed at the water.

All: GLACIUS!

The spell froze the lake and the giant.

Zacharias: Let's go now; this won't hold him for long — he said, drawing his wand and levitating the tree blocking their exit.

The three ran toward the exit.
