The door to the headmaster's office was brutally thrown open, and through it entered Madam Pomfrey, surprising everyone.

Dumbledore: What happened, Poppy?

Madam Pomfrey was catching her breath before she could speak. It was evident that she had run all the way from the infirmary to the headmaster's office.

Pomfrey: Albus, Miss Weasley and Mr. Uchiha are in the infirmary.

Molly: She's alive— she said, stepping closer to Pomfrey.

Pomfrey: Of course, she's alive. She's resting in the infirmary.

Molly: Thank God. She's alive, Arthur. Our Ginny is alive.

Arthur: Are they watching Uchiha to make sure he doesn't escape?

Pomfrey: What are you talking about? Mr. Uchiha was the one who saved Miss Weasley.

Ron: Isn't he the heir of Slytherin?

Pomfrey: It's not him. Mr. Uchiha explained everything to me before collapsing from magical exhaustion.

Dumbledore: Who was it, Poppy?

Pomfrey: He who must not be named. He did it all through this diary— she said, handing the diary to Dumbledore.

Everyone looked at the diary. The trio quickly recognized it as Tom Riddle's diary.

Molly: Ginny's diary.

Hermione: Tom Riddle's diary.

Harry noticed Dobby discreetly pointing at the diary and then at Lucius Malfoy.

Dumbledore examined the diary.

Lucius: I see. Well, I'll be on my way— he said, pushing Dobby aside as they both exited the room.

Molly: We're going to see Ginny.

The Weasleys, Madam Pomfrey, and Hermione also left the room.

Dumbledore: Is something troubling you, Harry?

Harry: It's just that I've noticed certain similarities between Voldemort and me.

Dumbledore: You can speak to snakes because Voldemort can too. If I'm not mistaken, Harry, he transferred some of his powers to you the night he gave you that scar.

Harry: He transferred powers to me.

Dumbledore: Unintentionally, but yes.

Harry: The Sorting Hat was right. I belong in Slytherin.

Dumbledore: Indeed. You possess many Slytherin qualities: determination, a certain disregard for the rules, but the hat placed you in Gryffindor.

Harry: Because I asked.

Dumbledore: Exactly. That's what makes you different from Voldemort. It's our choices, Harry. Our choices show who we truly are, far more than our abilities. If you want proof that you belong in Gryffindor, I suggest you look at this more closely.

Dumbledore handed the sword to Harry. He took the sword and saw the gleam of the rubies, then noticed the name engraved on the hilt.

Dumbledore: Only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that sword out of the Sorting Hat, Harry.

Both stood in silence for a few seconds. Dumbledore walked over to his desk and picked up a quill and a bottle of ink.

Dumbledore: What you need, Harry, is something to eat and some rest. I suggest you head to the infirmary, where your friends are visiting Miss Weasley. We also need our gamekeeper back, and I have to make an announcement to the Prophet. We'll also need a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
